Tasty Tuesday - Maple Edition

We stopped by Callie's to drop a little something off to her Lady for her upcoming birthday (as the people will be away). We left with:

This is maple syrup from 3 different batches from the trees behind our house. Lady and Man like the darkest stuff. The darkest here would not be sellable because it is too dark and not clear. Lady would argue this is the best stuff! Lady thinks this is the best maple syrup she has ever tasted. We are lucky to have such generous neighbours.

Lady and Man did let us lick the plates after they had their pancakes!

  2. Maple syrup from the trees you know is the best! My favorite is the light maple, which I have only had in New Hampshire; it's what the maple candy is made from (but I am certain you knew that)!

  3. I have Maple syrup several times a week, Beau loves to lick the plate. to buy that much syrup here would be well over 100 dollars. I would love to taste the dark syrup. I was raised on Cane Syrup made from sugar cane in the south of usa. I never had maple syrup until I married Bob. I love both, but miss the can syrup. it is hard to find these days. I just checked and there are 4 places in Georgia making it now..

  5. How great that you get syrup from trees right in your own backyard! We love licking the pancake plates, too. Our mom usually makes us little pancakes from the last of the batter to go with the syrup.
