No Mischief Monday - The BEST Day - by Lee

Oh my pals, the best thing happened. After 87 million years I got to see my Grammie, oh and the Big Guy too. Aunt C and her family came too. I love them all, but my Grammie is one of my very favourite people. I was beside myself when she came in. I needed to give her 87 million years of kisses.

Grammie and the Big Guy have moved closer. I will get to see them more. Lady says we can't go to their rental, we have to wait until like February 2021 until their new house is built to visit their home.

I am the happiest girl ever.

There was a tiny mischief. Phod was a little rude to Tendra, our grandparents dog, when she came in. The Man had to speak to him, but then he was fine.

FFF Nature Friday - A Tail Tale

Today is  Aunts-Yam'S FFF (final fiction Friday) and Rosy's Nature Friday.

In the woods around our place,

Is a pack of birds who like to race.

They can always be found flying around,

In the trees or on the ground.

They squawk and eat and land and fly,

There beautiful blue lights up the sky.

While they are as bossy as can be.

The blue jay pack is special to me.

This is our best guess the tail feathers of a blue jay who came to check the trail cam out!

The jays empty our feeders quickly. At any time ther can be 10-15 around. They are with us year round.

Thankful Thursday - by Phod

I am thankful I have a nice place to hide during the storms. Lady says now that she only working from one computer (short story - it was cheaper for Lady to buy a new Mac then to get hers fixed), she says she can put her standing desk back up. I will miss it.  This location also allows for me to keep a close eye on her while she works at home. (What she does those other two days, I don't  know but I will not eat my dinner until she is home).

Mischief Monday - Not A Lot Going On - by Lee

 Dear pals,

The summer is quickly drawing to the end, my peeps have settled into a new routine. The Man continues to work from home. The Lady leaves the house for work 2 days per week. We miss her terribly when she is gone and make her feel bad by acting so excited and pretending the Man completely neglected us all day. They have also had the nerve to both go out a few times. Imagine, thinking it is ok to leave us alone.

Lady makes sure we get our walks. Somedays over the past few weeks it has just been me and her as depending on how Phod's ankle feels, he can't go. It had been doing very well and then he snuck into the hole and dug too much and could barely walk for 2 days. This morning he broke the resting rules by charging at a jogger on our road. He always stops about 2 feet away and barks. People don't like this. I was an angel and stayed in the yard (ok, I was on leash and couldn't go anywhere).

Speaking of being on leash, except the time I kind of wandered into the bush (on our property) and the Man had to walk in and his legs got all cut up on the raspberry bushes, I have been very good off leash.

So as you can see there is not much happening. Just us hanging out and enjoying the rest of summer.

Nature Friday - A Buck

We aren't talking about money, we are talking about deer! We have 2 bucks in our 'hood. Thanks to Rosy for hosting this hop so we can share him.

This picture was taken one morning, across the road from our house as Lady was leaving for work.

The Tunnel

These are some pictures of the tunnel we are working on so we can visit Phenny and Nelly.

These pictures were taken before the sprained paw (although he has been caught digging a few times).

"Ok Phod, just stopped by to see how it was going."

"Good work, keep it up."

"At least Precious is helping."

Trouble On Tuesday - by Phod

Dear pals,

The most horrible thing happened last week. I was out for my morning walk with the Lady and Lee and as we turned back to our private road, I stepped on a pine cone and rolled my ankle.

Now while I did convince my peeps I didn't need the vet, things have not been peachy. I have to rest. No long walks. No ball. No beach. And the worst part . . .

they ice it.

I don't seem to be in too much pain and I am limping less.

Hopefully life will get back to normal soon.

Mischief Monday - The Computer

Hi all,

Lady's computer is sick and needs to go to the doctor. She really did try and figure out how to get our pictures on the iPad (after 3 days of trying to get all her files from a Mac to a PC and be able to use a PC - the HBO words we have heard). Anyway, she knows what to do but our internet sucks and Google is trying to store 800 pictures (Lady could not figure out how to get it to store just the ones she wanted for the blog this week). She hopes when she is in the office tomorrow she can finish it and we can be back soon. (Work internet is better!)

We thank you for your patience as Lady continues to say a lot of HBO words. Let's hope they can fix her Mac quickly.  She will take it in tomorrow - she had to wait until she got all her files.

Here is an old picture of us, to show she can do it, once the pictures get into the right cloud!

Nature Friday - From The Trail Cam

Thanks to Rosy for hosting this hop!

Lady recently purchased a trail cam and has been playing around with it some (trying it in different places, seeing what it catches). She knows she needs to do a set it and forget it and she will (and she needs to change the date and time!)

One of the creatures she captured is our resident Chippy. We bark at her almost every day as she is on the deck or visiting the feeders.

Chippy better be careful as we think someone is looking for her!

Tasty Tuesday - Waiting Styles

Lee and Phod have very different waiting for Sunday morning pancakes.

Lee is on alert, ready to go, not going to miss it.

Phod is more I am so weak from not eating pancake, I don't know if I will make it!

Do you have a waiting style?

Mischief Monday - The Great Hunter - by Lee

 Dear pals,

As you know, I am a great hunter. I have caught some things in my life when given the opportunity.

Now that I am the best girl in the world, and getting to be off leash some, I had the opportunity to hunt.

One of the things I always do, is check out my hole. The peeps and I have agreed we can have one hole in the yard. Lady says in the fall, when it isn't so surrounded by bush she will take a picture to show how big it is. I started this hole years ago in my tunnelling efforts to see Easy and have continued it for Phenny and Nelly. I happened to be inspecting said hole (as I have Phod doing most of the work) when an evil mole showed up. Clearly, I can't have another creature in the hole, so I made short work of him.

Semi-graphic picture to follow

While the people were not thrilled with my amazing hunting abilities, they were very happy I dropped it right away. They did a Google search to see if I was going to get sick from this, but since my rabies shots are up to date, I should be ok!

I was very proud of my great skill and will be dreaming about it for some time.

A very happy Hailey Bug

Nature Friday - Ducks!

Thanks to Rosy for hosting this blog hop.

When the Lady and the Man and the little people were at the beach without us on the weekend, they had a close encounter with a family of ducks! The kids were thrilled. The ducks came so close because the neighbour's kids feed them!

Trouble On Tuesday

We hosted the little human cousins for 3 nights. They were pretty good, but we are exhausted!
