Easter Celebrations!

As we mentioned on Monday - in spite of the headaches caused by the storm, we celebrated Easter on Good Friday, by going to Grammie and the Big Guy's for a family lunch. The advantage to not having power, was Lady and Man didn't want to leave us if they didn't have to, so we got to go!

As you can see being there was super exhausting.

Look what the Easter Bunny brought us. Lady dropped one. She would also like to thank everyone who thought she made Phod's birthday treats last week. She is not that talented, however she is a master at tapping her credit card!

On one of the trips to get water, Callie came with her kids. She was forced to pay the hat tax. 

She hated it, but Lady said we were making our own fun these days, and since no animals were hurt (other than perhaps her pride). 

In spite of it all, Easter was ok!

In spite all the snow and continued cold weather, the first sign of spring in the garden.

Mischief Monday - Easter Pictures

Dear pals,

We are extremely grateful that hat tax season (which runs Halloween until Easter) is done. During this year's Easter hat tax, we were not paid. This occurred the day after the garbage incident and apparently to make sure our systems were ok, we couldn't have treats. We grudging cooperated. 

Lady says the look on her face is like hers as we are in the 87 millionth lockdown. We are back to the 8pm-5am curfew. The Covid numbers are scary again. Our vaccine roll out is slow. Really other than not getting her hair done, it has 0 impact on Lady's life, but even she, one of the people least upset about all of this is ready to be done.

Mischief Monday - Hat Tax

We hope you all had a great Easter weekend. Lady and Man had a lot of fun. They held a pub night Friday night, where they ate wings and nachos and played trivia on the iPad while they ate. They did a Muppet Movie marathon. They cooked a big chicken dinner, followed by apple crisp. We did a fun egg hunt (not pictured here . . . you would think she would be more on it but whatevs . . .) and got extra treats.

All the fun did not save us from our Easter Hat Tax. (For those who may not remember, the Lady says because we are freeloaders here, we don't contribute to the household, several times a year we have to pay the hat tax. We tried to point out to her that she is currently unemployed, but she said she is getting social assistance and does housework, so she is contributing).

(Editor's Note: For the costs our beloved dogs incur without contributing financially to the household, several times per year, usually around holidays, they are required to pay the hat tax.)

A holiday miracle, I captured all 3 dogs in one shot wearing the hats. That is the best gift! 

"Hmmm, is it time for the treats in the eggs?"

Mischief Monday - Emma Edition

Lady's parents and their dog Tendra came to visit for Easter weekend.

Hailey, Phod and Tendra all get along. Emma had never met Tendra.

Emma decided she did not like Tendra and tried several times to attack poor Tendra (who was just minding her business across the room). Therefore, to keep everyone safe (as Tendra is a 90 lbs Lab and Emma is a 15 lbs Terrier - emphasis on Terror part), we kept them separate all weekend.

Lady moved the crate upstairs and Emma was in it, or in the bedroom resting with the Man (who is still recovering). She got to partake in all the treats and was taken outside multiple times a day too. She didn't love it, but she was safe and it was more relaxing for everyone.

At one point, when Emma was being put back into the crate, Hailey insisted on going in with her and the two spend at least an hour and a half together (napping at times). It was very sweet!

Today we are sharing our Easter torture pictures. You will note Cousin Emma escaped this torture because she was not playing nicely with others and needed some alone time. (If the rest of us had know that was an option, things may be different!). We share these today because tomorrow is a very special day, so please pop by.
