Tasty Tuesday - A Prize

To continue from yesterday - after a day in camp, the Lady came home smelling like a traitor. We would have been really mad, but she had this in her arms:

She had gone to the AutismSpeaks Canada 3 km . As a participant she was given 5 raffle tickets. She got to pick which items to try and win and she picked the basket from Critter Jungle, a local pet store. She was very excited to see after the walk that she had won it! The organizers told her it was valued at $150.  All her coworkers were like "of course you won that!" teehee.

Here is a better peak of what was inside.

One can never have enough poo bags

Lots of yummy treats and food

A new baby

We are very excited about everything that is in it. Since the bed is a little small for us, we think we will give it to cousin Emma.  If she doesn't want it, we will donate it somewhere.

We guess our weekend worked out in the end!

Feline Friday - Maybe You Can Teach an Old Cat New Tricks

I was really excited when we won the Torus bowl from http://www.ownedbyahusky.ca.  It arrived and I put it down and Phod ran right to eat and drank. Hailey was scared (after a few days she was fine) and Nin, well he didn't notice. A day or so later, Nin had his first "episode" and we had made the decision to leave both water bowls down. We didn't want to confuse him if he was already having problems.

One morning the old water bowl was out of water, and Nin went over and drank happily out of the Torus bowl. So we have been a one water bowl family every since!

It shows that even our old boy can learn something new!

Nin has had a seemingly good week. We haven't witnessed any more neurological events (although this doesn't mean they aren't happening). He seems himself, so we are just enjoying him! Thanks again for all your POTP.

We Got Mail - Part 2

A week and a half ago, we also received a price from the gang at Love is Being Owned by a Husky. Lady was very excited to get to try out the K9 Kelp products. How did we feel about it - well a picture is worth a thousand words . . . . .

"Put the trigger down and walk away."

This is the pose that let's you know Lee is very, very unhappy and nervous.

Phod's face after I had to coax him out of his hiding place.

Lady thinks it is ridiculous that we were so nervous about the following:

This is the one the Lady is most excited about. It says it is a natural insect repellent. Soon it is going to be black fly and mosquito season and will get to test the claim. Lady thinks it smells nice and she likes the idea of a conditioning spritz because some of us are not bath-able.

Have tried this a little on Lee's paws that are very dry after a long winter.

Lee checking it out.

And a little something for the Lady.

While the dogs were reluctant at first (they do not like to play beauty parlour), once we got putting these things on, they were fine. I am sure as we use them more, they will become less nervous. New things are always a little scary in this house!

Thanks so much to Love is Being Owned by a Husky Lady can't wait to use these more!

And the Winner is . . . . . .

First let us thank Molly, Sarge, Daisy, Bella and Roxy for participating in the joke off. It was a lot of fun to host. You all made the old cats, the dogs and the people laugh! [We are really glad we didn't have to vote, it was too hard, we loved them all!] Thank you for everyone who voted.

Now, the moment you have all been waiting for, the winner and funniest dog in Blogville is . . . . .

Sarge

Apparently people like to be grossed out with their jokes! Thanks Sarge, Lady will be in touch with your people about your prized.

Because we want to recognize all our competition, a special badge for Molly, Daisy, Bella and Roxy.

Thanks again everyone!

Prize from Sammy and DON'T vote for us!

Last week Hailey won a prize from Sammy for the teacher's pet contest. We were all very excited to receive a parcel from him yesterday. Without further adieu, the prize! (This is just a sampling of the pictures Lady took of us opening it - she didn't want to bore you all)

How do you get into this thing?

I am not sure how you open this. Am liking the shape

Phod it is not for you, get out!

I am getting the hang of this opening.

Here I am with the card, the bacon smelling bone (which we both love), a new tug toy (that Lady has hidden so Phod can't just pull it apart. We have to play with it under supervision so it lasts a day or two), and a special treat of granola bars!

Taste test for the granola bars. They are delish!

Lee with the new bacon smelling bone!

A very special thank you to Sammy for such great prizes. Sending you a special Hailey hug!

 ____________

We were thinking today when we went to the Blogville Calendar Contest at http://www.heartlikeadog.com/2013/08/25/its-here/  that while it is lots of fun to enter contests and get people to vote for us, sometimes it is more fun to try and help a friend. So we are asking all our readers, not to go and vote for us or their other Blogville friends, but to go to Heart Like a Dog and vote for  Benny and Lily.  The proceeds of the calendar are going to go to Benny's treatment for liver cancer. He is fighting like a Frenchie - this is why we submitted a picture of us fighting! It would be a real shame if Benny wasn't in the calendar. So we are asking everyone, to go and vote for Benny and Lily! It is really easy to do. Let's work together to get Benny and Lily in the top 12! They have our vote for the next 5 days! If you take your smart phone off your Wi-Fi - it gets a different IP address and you can vote using it too!

PS: Don't worry about Hailey and Phod not being in a calendar, they are the stars of their own calendar every year!

Mini Phod

A few weeks ago, Phod entered Misaki's playing ball competition and won! The prize was a cartooned version of Phod from Mollie and Alfie's shop. If you haven't visited their shop, you should, they have some neat stuff.

While I was away the parcel arrived. The Man kindly opened it via FaceTime so I could see it (I couldn't wait until I got home). Here it is:

Here is the model

We love it! Thank you Misaki and Thank you Mollie and Alfie!

Thank you - by Lee and Phod

Lee: Phody you won Misaki's ball contest, you need to thank people.

Phod: Move over so I can.

Lee: You know if it wasn't for me writing that you had entered on the blog, people wouldn't have voted for you, so make sure to thank me. Also, just so you know if I had entered (but I hate balls so I wouldn't lower myself to that), I would have gotten more votes and beaten you. Not that I am competitive or anything, just stating a fact. I am the princess and am more loveable.

Phod: Do I get a turn yet?

Lee: Almost, Blogville thank you for voting for my brother. He is not me, but we find ways to love him. This will make him feel special, and don't worry if it goes to his head, I will put him in his place. We won't have any of that in my house.

Phod: Can I go yet?

Lee: Almost, I would like to thank the Man for agreeing to throw the ball and Lady for taking pictures, not because they were the winning pictures or anything but because when they were doing it, I got to sneak into the groundhog hole area and try and play with my friend. I would like to thank Emma for also distracting them to help me reach my goal. I would like to thank . . . .

Phod: My turn - MOVE!

Dear Blogville, I am humbled by winning this prize. There was some great competition. I think everyone who ever plays with a ball is a winner.  The past few weeks have been hard, I have not got to play like I would have liked. However, I am healing now and I even got to go swimming this week! This is the second time I have won something. 11 months ago I won my first prize, Catahoula Rescue had the foresight to allow Lady and Man to adopt me. That was the biggest prize and without it, I wouldn't have people who played so much ball, loved me so much, and entered me in the contest. I wouldn't have my sister Hailey who I love too. So I am very grateful to Catahoula Rescue, and my people. I am also thankful for all of you who voted for me. I think everyone was deserving of votes.  Now to celebrate, let's play ball!

Lee: That was an ok speech . . . . if I had won it would have been better . . . . . . just saying.

WE GOT MAIL!

We have never gotten parcels before so imagine how thrilled we were on Monday when we had not one, not two, but THREE waiting for us! It was such an exciting day!

We didn't even know where to begin, so we let the Man open his first.

The Man opening
Us waiting to see what he got
Look how happy he is with his gift!

Here is his gift!

Thank you Mollie, you did a great job at cartooning us!

Next it was our turn. We started with the Mollie box. To find great products go visit Mollie and Alfie's shop at: http://www.molliesdogtreats.co.uk/,

Here is Zaphod checking the box out

Now it is Hailey's turn

Here is the new squirrel

Here all the other cool treats and toys. Most of which Lady put away for later. We get to keep out the squirrel and the pig. We love the pig. Lady and Man have to keep putting it together.

Look at this stylish poop bag carrier. We will look smashing at the park.

Thanks again Mollie, for the great stuff. We will talk about the other things once the mean Lady let's us have them.

On to parcel number 3 . . .

What is in this one?
Look it is a great book! Can't wait for Lady to read it to us!

Our book is the prize we won from Susie and Bite's guess our weight contest. We look forward to reading it!

We were so busy with our mail and toys we hardly had time for mischief last night!
