It has been 268 days since my capture.
This week, Styx taught me a new trick - To come on the dining room table while my people are eating.
Unfortunately at this meal it was pancakes, and I don't like pancakes. Hopefully next time it will be something better.

Reader,
I really do love my Lady. She does a really good job at most of the time respecting my boundaries. I know I am beautiful and cute and I can be very distracting.
But sometimes she is a little much and I must hide.
She will never find me.

Hi friends, hi friends, hi friends,
You all know I love almost everyone. I have a heart that is too big, too big, too big! I am the anti-Grinch. However, there are two things I don't love. There are two things I want to hunt, hunt, hunt.
The first is the crow. They stay far from my house, far, far, far. They know I would get them.
The second is the black squirrel. He or She does not stay far, far, far. He or She teases me and stands right at the window, thanks to the feeder Uncle Chris got me.
Sometimes He or She even knocks on the window. I do not want to be his or her friend. I want to hunt him or her. Hunt, hunt, hunt.
Lady says it is very distracting when she is trying to work.
you pal Styxy, the squirrel fighter
Reader,
Lady was so annoying the other day with her in and out and in and out because she got in her head, she needed to know what kind of tree she has a lot of in her yard. I don't understand why anyone would care, it is a tree. Trees are trees, if they aren't growing food.
She asked the Big Guy first, he didn't know. and he knows a lot of things. Then she had a conversation with AI (who kept requesting more pictures), as well as an internet search, before deciding, she thinks it is an ash.
So now she knows and knows the emerald ash borer will probably arrive and kill it (like I got the robot mouse). Now she is a bit sad, but said she will enjoy it while she can.
I personally found this all boring, but Lady said I should thank my hosts Rosy and Sunny, for giving me a place to complain about Lady's interest.

It has been 261 days since my imprisonment.
I have decided it is time to train Lady Warden (LW). She has been trying really hard to get me to like her more, so I decided to give her a chance.
First I have trained her to share all her food. Yes she let me take a big piece of chicken right out of her container. She wants everyone to know that I was not given anything with garlic and onions an after the picture, she was a bit rude and made me get down. Also she wants everyone to know she loves Shawarma and the Ottawa area is known as the Shawarma Capital of Canada. Due to the high Lebanese population, there are over 200 shawarma restaurants (city is about 1 million people).
Second, we have a new evening routine. I have her trained to play with me. Laser is my favourite game. She is getting pretty good at it too. She got a new laser, which is much brighter and better. Then I let her have the opportunity to give me treats. I am even sort of getting on her lap.
I am giving her a B+ in her training. I think she could be a little more liberal with the treats. Also, she complains a lot about my nails. We have not graduated to cutting them yet.

Reader,
I am the best hunter in the house. I have proof.
Our house was invaded by a robot mouse.
Hi friends, hi friends, hi friends,
Lady here, to share the second part of my birthday adventure. After a day in Parc Omega, we stayed for Cocktails with the Wolves. This was a small group experience (up to 30 people) who would go with a guide to the enclosure of one of the park's packs, to learn about them in the wild as well as life in captivity. These Grey Wolves, were ready and waiting for the raw meet they were served as a treat so we could see them. While the interaction was going on, we were treated to dinner (not a sit down dinner, but canapés) as well as beverages.
While the day had been amazing this was a super special event that I loved. We learned so much, especially about the care of them in captivity.
Here are some highlights.

That was my perfect wild birthday.
It has been 254 days since I moved inside. I have mainly lost my feral status, but I have kept my tortiude.
I need to give you a little context. Lady Warden (LW) had a bestest family friend Missy G. Long time readers may remember that Missy G was sort of an adopted family member. She and her husband were LW's neighbours growing up and adopted family. When Missy G died in 2020 (not of Covid, her husband had died many years before) she left the contents of her house to Lady Warden and Aunt C.
Missy G was the first cat lady, LW really knew. Besides having up to 5 indoor cats, Missy G spent a lot of time caring for outdoor cats. She had her own TRN type of program. Anyways, Missy G would have loved the adventure of LW having me. LW says she can hear her laughing saying "Oh LW".
One of the things Lady took from the house was this big stool. Although I have 5 perfectly good scratching posts, I love to stretch and scratch on this.
LW says "No" and I just look at her and say "Missy G would say I could" and she knows I am right and I get to scratch away.
LW can't wait until she can cut my nails.
Lanie, Prisoner #3, who is very good at manipulating Lady to get what I want.
Reader,
The Lady decided to use some of her birthday money on things to spruce up the house. One of those things was a new mat for in front of the sink. She wanted something to go with the green and was washable. She landed on this jungle theme (Lady and her animals, she may as well be a toddler).

Hi friends, hi friends, hi friends,

Uncle Chris got Lady stick on bird feeders for her birthday. So far she has put one up and it has worked, it has brought us squirrels, squirrels, squirrel!

The mischief is the squirrels knocked the feeder and have at least once knocked on the window looking for more food.
I can't wait to see what is on the squirrel TV channel this week. It is the best, best, best channel!
your pal Styx
I, the Lady am stealing the blog today, to share with you my birthday adventure. Every year, I take the day off and do something. This year, I decided I wanted to go to Parc Omega.
Parc Omega is a 2200 acre wildlife safari park. There is a 12 to 15 km/8-10 mi of driving trails through a protected forest, where in most of the animals wander freely. In many places of the park you can feed the animals carrots.
We started the day with a stop to buy about 18lbs of carrots. This was probably not fully enough for us, 20lbs would have been better, but Man had only wanted like 10, so it was a good compromise. Then we were off (making fun of the people who bought like 12 carrots).
Here are some of the highlights of our drive around.

About half way through the drive, and before it poured rain for about an hour, we stopped to walk the Alpaca. This was on my fun list, so we made it happen.
