Hey, usually when you have the camera out, you want pictures of me, so I thought I would join in.

Really - That is the Face I Get?
Since I have this blog, the camera is in my dogs' faces more than it would be if I didn't. Last time I checked my iPhoto I had something like 13 000 pictures, and you know at least half of those are my dogs. You would think after having thousands of pictures taken Hailey would be a good model, but no, she is not.
Here is an example from the recent photo shoot I did for Hailey's 5th birthday:
It took 14 shots to get one that was acceptable for her official birthday picture. You can view it HERE.
Phod on the other hand, was completely jealous about the attention Hailey was getting (and she wasn't getting treats until the pictures were done) and in 1 shot I got a new favourite:

The fearful look, like I am doing something evil |
The surprised look, like she has never seen the camera before |
I am not sure what to call this other than ugly face |

A little bit more about Grand Cayman
I didn't mean to rub in going somewhere warm:) The Man and I hadn't been on a trip together for nearly 3 years. We had booked this trip to see friends who live on the island, and then the friends picked the weekend we were there to get married. What fun!
Cayman is a very small island (22 miles across). While the weather feels Caribbean (we were blessed with what we thought was warm but the locals thought was cold - it was in the 20s C [80 F] but it was a bit windy), the island itself feels like a North American city then other warm places we have visited.
Most of the time we spent visiting or sitting on the beach. I have taken up snorkelling. Saw some cool fish. That being said, we did do some traveling around the island in our rental car. The Man did an awesome job driving on the left side!
The starfish from yesterday was at Starfish point and we believe it was alive (although I wouldn't know how to tell!)
Here are some pictures from our travels!

Halloween for Lee
Lee's first Halloween - 2010 - She had been with us for about a month and a half and her expression is clearly "What are they doing to me?" |
Halloween - 2011 - This was a few months after Gemi died and I think in her grief our Lee was more tolerant. |

Halloween 2012 - Clearly "I freakin' hate you all." |

Halloween - Blast From the Past
This was from our last Halloween with Loki (and second last with Gemi). At the time we knew it was Loki's last and even so this didn't allow him to escape being dressed up. In our house, dying and being on a huge drug cocktail is not enough to save you from participating in Halloween!
Loki hated being dressed up, but was always tolerant of it (like he was tolerant of everything). Princess Gemi did it but hated it. Fighting dressing up was below her.
I love this picture of the two of them, I think the looks on their faces are priceless and thought I would share for our Halloween blogs.

Almost wordless Wednesday - Halloween Celebrations Begin
In our house, Halloween is probably almost as big a deal as our winter holidays (Hanukkah and Christmas - no we are not Jewish, and we aren't Christian, so we celebrate both). We have more Halloween decorations then any other holiday. The Man LOVES Halloween. He loves gross creepy Halloween, which freaks Lady out. She loves cute fun Halloween. Her favourite part of it is dressing the pets up.
We will be celebrating the holiday on the blog by sharing some fun pictures of the pets dressed up now and until the big day!
Enjoy this creepy pet torture!

We are black cats, we really don't need to dress up! But don't worry, there are pictures to come of them dressed up. |

The Photo Shoot
Here are some of my favourite pictures from out photo shoot in the path around our house yesterday. Enjoy! |
The view from the end of our drive way (the way to the lake) |
Lee and Ghost, our neighbours dog, meet on the path |
Hang on, the dogs are going different ways! |
Trying to get us lined up for the picture |
The wild turkeys had left our sight, so we could sit for a picture! |
Home sweet home! |
