Dear pals,
As we mentioned last week, the Man is starting his return to the office. People keep saying return to work, but he has been working the past 1076 days. Friday was his first day back. He will be going 2 days per week, he has picked Monday and Friday for now.
The work environment has completely changed for him. People don't have assigned desks, they have to book them hotel style. There are fewer desks on the floor for distancing. Team members may not all be in on the same days. You can't leave anything at the office. It is a big adjustment.
It is a big adjustment for us too! However, Lady and Man are thrilled to say, we rocked the first day alone. There was no destruction, no messes, only 2 thrilled dogs that their people returned. Lady and Man hope this trend continues.
sunrise on a cold morning |
In other mischief news, we have had a cold snap. It has been like -26C/-15F. Some mornings Lady has decided it is just not safe enough to walk, so we have short business trips. Lady says it is a bit ironic it is so cold this week, because we have one of the warmest winters on record. The Rideau Canal Skateway couldn't open because it needs 10 days below -10C/14F to freeze thick enough to skate on. This is the first time since it opened as a place to skate in 1972 this has happened. Previously, the shortest skating season was 18 days.
We are keeping warm with fires, electric blankets and snuggles!
Saturday morning when it was too cold to be outside |
Hope you are all staying warm friends!

ReplyDeleteOh my, I hope Man gets into the swing of things; changing routines can be such a drag. Meanwhile, you all stay warm and snuggled... must say after a week of early spring, we have also returned to marked colder days, albeit nothing as threatening as yours! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
-15 degrees would be way too cold for me and mom too. Just business is the only time you'd see us out in that kind of weather. That does look like a very cold sunrise! It sounds like you're doing the very best stuffs to stay warm.
ReplyDeleteOh Phod and Lee
ReplyDeleteI send da Man lots of extra patience...this must be hard all the new rules. Especially having to take things home every day you are there.
We heard on our news today it appears the 2nd and 3rd weeks of March are going be like the winter we have not had yet. Brrrrr
Hugs cecilia
That sure is some cold weather. We only do "business" runs when it's that cold too. Sorry to hear your Man had to go back to working in the office, but at least it's only for a couple days a week. You still have him home for most of it.
ReplyDeletelife is full of changes, and I am so happy your first day Home Alone without your humans went well. I worked a job once that we could not leave anything, and I did not like sharing desks at all. our world will never be the same . the world as we know it is gone.
ReplyDeleteWe got a thaw yesterday and all of the ice melted. But you pups have a lot more cold than we do here in WNY! Glad you pups are adjusting to your human's schedules. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteBrrrrrrrr!!! That is snuggle weather for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteGood job on your first day home alone!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
Well done Lee and Phod, coping with all those changes. Not so easy as one gets more advanced in years...
ReplyDeleteGail says she hated the idea of not having an assigned desk in her last couple of years at work, but found ways to make sure that everyone knew which was 'her' desk and not to sit there!
Oh, and that is such a beautiful picture of sunrise on a cold morning.
You guys are having the weather we had most of the winter. Except our river has been frozen and it hardly ever freezes. The weather is topsy turvy! And we commend you for being the best dogs ever! Purrs Marvelous Marv
