Torture Thursday - by Phod

I, Zaphod, try really hard to be a good boy, but this doesn't save me from being tortured. The other day the Man noticed my ear was looking red, which may mean I am getting an ear infection (I get those a lot) so he decided to clean it.

He made me lay on the floor, and Lady thought instead of saving me she would capture this on film.

No Lady I will not stay still so you get better pictures.

Ok the massage part at the end isn't so bad

Friends, so your people do things they claim are good for you but really suck?

Crikey Phod, pinning you to the floor like that is surely a breach of canine-human contract!!! Am not entirely sure the massage is a suitable recompense... unless of course it lasted 87 minutes!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  10. Too often to mention, Phod. My mum keeps telling me it's for my own good. I wish she'd 'good' herself instead of me.

  13. Humans shouldn't think up so many ways to torture us - why not spend that time thinking of ways to make us HAPPY????!!!!!

  15. Lightning gets the occasional ear issue with the change in seasons. He doesn't like the cleaning either, but he is more than happy to get a good massage whether there is a problem or not:)

Hope your ear is going to be just fine, Phod.

  17. Phod, you might not like it, but it's really for your own good. We hope your ear is okay.

  18. We cocker spaniels know all about ear infections with our long floppy ears. It is a tale of unending woe and suffering indeed. I've been a very lucky pup, though. My ears are still doing well for my age. Ghostwriter says they look amazing, but she always raps her knuckles on the wood table after saying that. Hope your ears get batter real fast. (There's a medicine that the vet can put in your ear that stays there for several days which worked real well for Joey dog.)

  20. Oh dude! Boy, do I knows what THAT is like! Have you tried running under the kitchen table and hiding there? It kinda works for me....til Ma crawls under and grabs my collar. sigh.
butts, I have KINDA gotten used to all the ear cleaning and medicine....Ma says it's better than surgicals! I agree, so I KINDA let her, butts demand freeze dried chicken afterwards!
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

  21. We have the nerve to try to pick ticks off Luke if he gets one every so often. He is not amused, and does not cooperate!

  22. Poor baby. Delilah doesn't care to have her ears cleaned, so we use this:

    https://www.anmpharm.com/collections/ear-flushes/products/cucumber-melon-otic

It is a water based solution that you squirt in the ear, it helps break up the dirt, and then you can use a cotton swab to gently wipe. But if you're digging the ear massage, that's cool.
