Mischief Monday - The Horrible Little One - by Hailey

Dear pals,

The most terrible thing happened. A horrible little one moved into our house. She was hear for 87 million hours (editor's note: 2 days). She brought lots of stuff. She put toys every where. She was very scary.

I had to bark at her, a lot. I would bark and bark until she cried and then I would get in her face and bark some more. This landed me in jail. That is right, an invader came to my house, and I had to spend time in jail. Lady says it was the only way to make sure everyone was safe and happy.  I was so upset the first day, I couldn't sleep at all, unless the horrible little one slept. I was very tired and cranky by the end of the day.

In jail with only a bone and some toys and a comfy bed
By the second day, she didn't cry when I barked, and when Lady told me to go lay down, I would. I spent less time in jail. Lady also notes, I did a bit better when the Man was around. I barked a little less.
Pretending she is not on my couch

Pretending she isn't there more.

I would have done a happy dance when she left, but I was way too tired. I had to sleep the whole next 2 days.
Standing on my Lady and getting a belly rub because I am scared
Lady says she is giving me a C- for my behaviour. She says I need to work on it and that the horrible little one may be back for a weekend before I know it.  I guess I better get the jail cell ready now.

  4. Poor Hailey. Little peeps can be very scary but to be thrown in jail just doesn't sound right. Maybe next time will be better.

  5. Being upset by strangers can wipe a dog out! I have never been frightened of little humans but I know some other dogs who are, so you are not alone. I bet you can overcome this so you can stay out of jail when that little one is around.

  8. Hailey these are sheep. They are so much fun to play with. Just a hint they drop food. Make friends with them and they even give you food. Sometimes it's hard not to bark when we get excited. After all they get loud, too. However, they get real snuggly, too.

  14. I'm sorry about the jail sentence, H. You should go ahead and taste the little person next time she comes. I taste them all the time. They're delicious. They taste like candy. And dirt!

  17. Oh, we are so sorry the little hooman scared you. They do tend to pull a doggie's ears so it is best for you to stay away, just more quietly.

  21. Hailey, you just have to make friends with that little one - they are GREAT!!! They love to share their food, and they always have sticky fingers that are worth licking:) AND they love to play ball - maybe you can train her to play fetch with you. It isn't easy when you don't have little ones around a lot, but we just know you can learn how to be good AND have fun:)

  24. Hmmmmm, wonder why that little sticky person scared you so? We aren't very fond of them either, but we just hide from them and Mazie just avoids them. So sorry Hailey!

  25. We can see you're not a happy pup, Hailey! But to be put in jail in your own home just for showing how you feel? Not fair! I understand completely - I'm in jail for 6 weeks just because I needed surgery. I didn't *want* the surgery, but I'm still stuck in jail! Why don't they put the surgeon in jail for doing this to me?!

  26. That doesn't seem fair that you should spend time in jail. Why couldn't the little one be in the jail?

  27. It's frustrating sometimes when they invade our space, isn't it? But I think your lady was looking out for you to make sure you didn't get into anything you couldn't get out of. Hopefully, eventually the intruder will grow and understand what hanging with you means. Hopefully someday you will be great friends.

  28. Luke is feeling your pain, Hailey. He dreads the next visit by the grandkids. Jail will definitely be involved. He does look forward to the possibility of extra treats though.
