Sad Week

Remember our friend Huey? We went to the dog park with him and his family a couple of months ago. Huey died this week.

It was a complete accident. Huey was in the yard alone, like he had been a million times before. Huey's people don't know what happened, but somehow he got into the pool and drowned. He has never gone near the pool before.

We are devastated. His family is devastated. It is so sad. As the survivors of an accident that took a dog life, we know there is not point in going over the should have/would haves. All we can do is go forward. Lady says it is a reminder to be careful around water and a reminder that sometimes for no good reason accidents happen.

We were also sad because our Lady left us alone with the Man for 3 night sleeps as she went to a conference near Boston. She returns today. We will report how that went tomorrow.

Take care everyone and be safe!

  8. That is definitely so sad, and I can imagine the grief that comes with an accident like this is so much worse. I think you are right though, accidents happen which are good to learn from but I hope no one beats themselves up over it. RIP little Huey.

Oh my word, my heart aches for all who were close to Huey. I did not know him but that does not mean the news is less painful. My condolences and blessings. Hugs and wags too. YAM-aunty xxx

  12. Genes and dogs, Some are attracted to water just like fish. So very sad. We have had a similar thing at the cottage, not our pool but next door.
The dog owners called and called their missing dog right outside of our window. I did suggest that they look next door. But by the time they actually did just that, it was too late.......... Not the pool owners fault or that of Molly's owners fault. She was an beautiful inquisitive girl. Our hearts go out to losing such beautiful paws like that. LOTS AND LOTS OF LUVS X

  14. We are so sorry for their loss, and it's understandable they feel guilty. I hope those feelings soon pass and that all who knew this precious one are comforted by their memories, and in knowing we are sharing Huey's loss along with them.
