Yes - our Alexander does that (and so have others who have gone before). It is a way of covering up and hiding a food cache they may want later (Some big cats stash leftover prey up in trees).
There's nothing wrong with saving leftovers. For years, all leftovers in our house were reused in another meal somewhere, somehow. We had to with so many mouths to feed.
you are like da phenny... but he tries to bury that stuff in bed.. maybe that works for you too?
