Dear pals,
This weeks' mischief prize goes to me, because I have a hole in my fur. There may be a small cut and it seems a little itchy, but it isn't a big deal. (Editor's note - today is both dogs regular check up with the new vet and we will get this looked at then. It didn't seem to be worth a trip to emerg with this appointment so close. Come back Thursday to find out how it all went).
To solve the mystery from Wordless Wednesday last week, as some people had a hard time finding me (this was also an activity the Man's work group tried too), Lady has circled me.
The Man said this is my best lion of the savannah impression - Phod of the field.
People asked about ticks - there are apparently some but in the 11 years we have been in here, we have seen one. We take our meds monthly to help protect against them. Lady says at this point in our lives, we are at quality of life and enjoyment, so we take the risk, until we get other informoation.
We suspect that "little hole" is just a place for Mom to tuck extra love in ...
ReplyDeletewe hope the vet visit goes smooth and we wish you a super fast healing.... we have no ticks either , specially not this year.... a miracle...
ReplyDeletewe do the flea/tick meds monthly here also. I hope that hole is not anything that matters. waiting to hear from the vet visit, prayers all goes well with both of you
ReplyDeleteHave you had a "hot spot" before? Our vet "old school" recommends corn starch , dries it up and it heals and refill with hair eventually . Works like a charm. I have asked mine when they have one ,if they want some dust and she stands perfectly still while I do it. Good luck at the vets. Beth
ReplyDeletePhod...good luck at the new vet and I hope maybe the ride is a bit shorter

ReplyDeleteAll the best for the 'new vet' intiation appointment... and a wee bit POTP for the mystery hole... and YAY, glad my eyes did not deceive me and that it was you dead centre! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
We have our paws crossed that the hole problem will be taken care of by the new vet.
ReplyDeleteWe hope the hole isn't a big deal too. My paws are crossed for you, Phod! We have plenty of ticks here but I do wear my Seresto collar and it works to keep them away.
ReplyDeleteHope it was just something simple, like a cyst that burst. Happens with older dogs.
ReplyDeleteWe hope the hole is of no consequence. It sort of looks like the start of a hot spot, or maybe a tick bite. Lightning had a tick literally bore a hole in his back. We all take meds for ticks and fleas and heartworm, but Misty has different ones because of all her problems. And now the vet is wanting to hold off on her heartworm med that is due now because her system is so off right now with all the fur loss process. Good luck at the vet.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
I hope it is an easy fit.
ReplyDeleteI hope that hole is nothing, Phod!
