Mischief Monday - Wildlife Invasion

Why do we have to be in the crate when there is a bird!
The Scene: Saturday morning - the Man and Lady were getting ready to go out. Hailey was insistent that there was something in the living room. The Man checks it out.

The invader: A bird in the chimney

What happened next: Extra doors were closed, the pups were put in the crate, patio doors were open, Man opened the fireplace doors.

The bird, flew towards patio, but hit the door. It flew up and hit the fireplace. It flew into the dining room and bounced off a window before
flying out the patio door.

Until next time bird!

Lady's attempt to photograph the bird:)

Other wildlife encounters this week:
-The deer - we saw some every day
-The wild turkeys - we saw them a lot
-We tried to chase a woodpecker
-Lady saw 2 foxes
-Lady had to stop to let a duck cross the road
-Lady saw someone trying to coax their run away sheep off the highway
-The Man checked on a bird that hit the window (he was stunned but then flew away)

Spring is in the air!

  2. Crikey ... I s'pose it must be Spring but why did you have to go in your crate. You could have got rid of that birdie much easier than Man did, aye?

i once lived in a place with a lot of glass and the birds thought they could fly right through. Then they met the glass... have nursed a few wings back to consciousness!!! Makes for a more interesting life... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  12. Oh no not stuck in your enclosed fireplace! Mom had this once and had to put us in the bedroom while she got the bird out. She said we were scaring it. Why would a bird come down our chimney? Geesh

  13. We noticed the birdies around our area are acting very silly lately. Ghostwriter says it's because of nesting season. Whatever that means. The bunnies are starting their annual invasion and two ducks keep showing up in our next door neighbor's front yard in the morning.

Oh, we had a birdie stuck in the garage. We never knew it was there until we found its mummified remains in a corner when we did some cleaning. Poor birdie!

  20. So much excitement around there! We are waiting to see more wildlife at our new house. So far we've had one lone wild turkey, and my hubby finally saw some deer down in the woods. We can hear the woodpeckers everywhere - they sound big (I hope they're pileated)! But we haven't seen them yet. We had a bird in the garage that I thought was going to fly right into my head on his way out!

  22. If a bird was in our house, I'm pretty sure Mom would pack up and move! Your parents are very brave and smart to figure out that strategy.
