Mischief Monday - That Will Teach You!

While the Man and I were away, the dogs stayed in a kennel. They would like everyone to think that they were hard done by at the kennel, but the owner reports they were happy, most of the time. They were of course over the moon to see us! Phod looks like he lost a little weight and Hailey is the same. I have terrible guilt over leaving them there.

Being away didn't stop the mischief. At the kennel, they hung the leashes on the cage door. The leash destroyer, aka Hailey, got ahold of them. Thankfully I keep extra leashes just in case at home (the leash destroyer has a history of chewing them).

Last time she was at the kennel she chewed up a bed. I guess when you are at the kennel, something has to be destroyed.

  1. Good one Hailey, that should increase the guilt Mom is feeling and you nose what that means....yep MORE treats, hehe.

Oh yes, the 'hunger' look and the 'they only gave us leashes to gnaw on' complaint work big time on peep-guilt Hailey! Settle down now, though... they're back and that means treats and snuggles and all the rest of it too!!! HUgs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  3. Aw I know they were sad but I'm sure they were ok!! We don't go without our pugs often, but when we have to, it's nice to have my parents to watch them. I'm currently talking to Military Husband about getting BabyBelle used to flying! I want to take them everywhere. I'm obsessed. Lol

  4. smiling now.. and can't stop, we had a leash chewer and she also totally destroyed her dog bed when we left her at the kennel. we came home and he handed me a plastic trash bag and said here's Baby's bed... there was nothing left but fluffy pieces... she did grow out of it except for occasional regressive behavior on books and chair legs

  5. Hmmm, it seems somedog may have been a tad upset being kept at the kennel. I am sure they will get over it though. I usually stay with Grandma when my peeps go away.

  9. Hailey girlfriend WTG showing your displeasure. Phod sweetie use your sad starving eyes to get more food this week

Please tell your lady mom totally understands the guilt she feels. Of course I stay home but and my sitter is fabulous but really and truly there is no one who knows just how you like your water arranged, how you like your canned food right in the middle of you dish with just a teaspoon of warm water.

  13. We always have to go to the kennel...SHE tries to tell us it's a resort or camp. And we lose weight, because we spend the day jumping around and barking. But SHE says SHE can travel without worrying about us AND SHE can keep friendships.

  15. Well even if we have actually had an OK time in kennels, it is always important that our humans get the impression we suffered dreadfully isn't it? That way lies more treats.

  16. Of course you should eat a bed or an occasional leash at the kennel. How else would humans know that you do not approve of those living arrangements?

  17. Well, we have to do SOMETHING at the kennel to pass the time.:) Mom doesn't like to leave us either, but she always makes sure we are somewhere safe with good peeps to take care of us. It sounds like you get the same treatment.

  18. Yes, that sounds like an unwritten rule for sure! We had such a bad experience kenneling our first dog, we never did it again for any of the dogs (plus when you have 3 or 4 it can be pricey). We use pet sitters, mainly a sister and a friend, but trust me, that's not always easy to work out.

  21. I think you're right - something must be sacrificed to Hailey's teeth during every kennel stay!

  24. Crikey ..... kennels???????? I've NEVER stayed in one of those places. I eat my bed if Mum and Dad leave me at home alone for more than an hour. I'd probably eat EVERYTHING in sight if I were left in a kennel.
    Glad your home safe, now!!

  26. Well, sometimes you have to destroy something to express your true, inner feelings!!!!!

  27. Ours would do the exact same thing. When ever we sent them to a pro for training, they got no beds or soft toys because they would have destroyed them.
