Don't Yell at Her!

Phod has developed an interesting habit. It seems to only be with me. If I am scolding Lee for some reason (perhaps for her trying to pull me over or telling her to get off the counter or out of the cat food), this is what happens.

Phod comes running to me.
I just want you to be happy Lady. Do I make you happy?
He jumps up (which he doesn't normally do).
He will wrap his paws around my arm and try and pull me down so he can kiss my face.

I end up comforting him instead of scolding Lee.

Of course, when I am scolding Lee, she is not paying any attention to me. The scolding is really to make me feel better, not to change her behaviour!

I hate to stress my poor boy out, so will work on scolding Lee less!

One of our friends from twitter finally joined the blog-osphere. Please pop over and say hi to Loki the DoberDog http://lokidoberdog.weebly.com/. All Loki dogs will always have a special place in my heart because my first dog as an adult was a Loki!

  1. Oh how sweet we think Phod is trying to comfort you and make you happy. Bless. Have a terrific Tuesday.
    Best wishes Molly

  2. Ahhh, so Phod watches out for his sister. Sweet!

  3. Sweet..seems there is always one that is a peace maker. In my house it's the shepherd :)

  4. We have that with our two as well. We go to get mad at Bailey, and Bonnie ends up being upset and feeling like she did something wrong. It's hard with the two dogs, that's for sure.
It's adorable though that Phod just wants you to be happy. Dog love for sure :)

  5. Oh my goodness so cute he tries to intervene

  6. Also, yay! Thanks for reading the new blog! It's a great outlet, I have so much to learn!

  7. That's kind of cute. Maybe he's standing up for his sister or something.

  8. Ahhhh the big brother syndrome!! Have a super tuesday!

  9. Hey Lee, Hey Phod, Jet here.

Phod, sounds like you have a similar temperament to me! What a kind, gentle manly man you are. :)

  10. Yeap, thats the way we work also, then it all stops, who says us guys can't work thinks out, Heeheehee!!!

  11. That's typical appeasement behaviour. When one dogs accidentally hurts another dog (s)he'll lick the mouth of the injured dog as an apology. He's trying to de-arouse you, and that's adorable. Daisy starts to pace when I'm interrupting Gambit's bad behaviour then sucks up to me. You don't have to comfort him, he comforting YOU! :) (I know you know all this, but I can't help by chime in haha)

  12. It is very cute! We are lucky to have such a sweet dog!
