As we mentioned last week, we made the decision to put Hailey back on Prozac. We had a thunderstorm one night and she peed on one of the dog beds, but no other destruction. We will call this a win.
To help her on Canada, because we knew there would be fireworks, and then Saturday night as we actually got to go out and we knew there would be fireworks, we also gave her a Valium. In both cases, there was no destruction.
We are not loving our girl on the Prozac. She isn't eating as much and she is extra sleepy. We can't tell if it her adjusting, her also having Valium or something else. We are going to give her another week or so, without Valium and just the Prozac, to see if she is more herself. If not we will be talking to our vet.
Because she is in human drugs, this cracks me up.
poor sweet Hailey. those drugs are horrid but so is anxiety. hope she will adjust to them and feel herself soon
ReplyDeletewe hope it goes ok an your vet can help if you need a change in the meds, hugs to professor lee... but better hide the car keys for a while ;O)
ReplyDeleteIdeally, the valium would do the trick, if given periodically, as we do with James Bone (cardigan).
ReplyDeleteWe're glad to hear Hailey is less stressed and have our paws crossed that she adjusts and gets back to her old self (without the destruction).
ReplyDeleteThere were a LOT of fireworks around us last night. Not just the big ones from the town, but several neighborhood people had some noisy displays all the way to almost 11pm. Chester took all this in stride, and only barked when there was a particularly loud one.
ReplyDeleteWe hope Hailey can get some relief.

ReplyDeleteAww bless... hope it all settles down okay for you Lee... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Poor Hailey!!! Our Dilly has an "iron bladder." She refused to go out at 3 PM when we left for our daughter's house. Later that evening, when we were back home, she again refused to go out because of the neighborhood fireworks. From 3 PM yesterday until 7 AM today, she stayed inside. Nothing we could do would make her go out.
ReplyDeleteLee darling...I hope you can adjust to it quickly. BOL BOL BOL if you drive be sure to buckle up.
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
Fireworks are just horrible and not to complain too loudly but it's 1:30pm here and we have heard fireworks already! This is unacceptable!
ReplyDeleteWhatever keeps you safe and happy while these nasty booms continue, Hailey.
LOL! Be careful behind the wheel, H. Don't get arrested for DUI. You're too pretty for prison.
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,
Cupcake
So Hailey, you're OK to drive if you lay off the Prozac, right?
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie (who is also on a 'human' drug - Gabapentin in his case).
I'm sorry Hailey is having issues and has to take those medicines.
ReplyDeleteOh noes. sorry gurl. I hopes you level out soon, or the dogtors can figure out somethings
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
We have our paws crossed that she levels out and acts more like herself. Good luck!
