Pizza Please

Pizza has always been one of Lee's favourite treats. It was our angel Loki's as well. Towards the end of his life we ordered him a small cheese pizza and tried to serve it whole. He had no idea what to do. We had to cut it up for him. I don't think, if in the same position Lee would have the same problem!

Librela and Us

Phod has been taking his shot for almost a year and a half and Lee for a few months.  We have both been lucky that it seems to be helpful. Besides not being uncomfortable, Phod finds it easier to get up and down. He will even occasionally get on the furniture and he is more likely to do the stairs.

Lee is less tippy. She runs more. She also gets on the furniture more often.

Lady says the draw back of less pain is we do want to explore more. Exploring more means trying to sneak next door, because we have just decided this is part of our yard. Hailey especially loves to track the 3 cats who live next door and some of the many, many strays around. Callie's people think it is funny to watch Lady and Man chase us around their yard. Sometimes they come out to laugh at her!

Going down the road to Callie's. Lady yelling "unsanctioned visit" didn't help.

Coming out of the bush between our houses on the road, hoping to give Lady the brush off.

Lady standing blocking the path between our houses singing - stop in the name of love

We know this treatment may not be the best for everyone. And while Lady gets a bit annoyed with us, her main goal for our lives right now is quality of life, and this is improving it. We feel lucky to have this option.

Fall Fun? By Phod

 Dear pals,

I was minding my own business having a good sniff in the leaves when the Man got this idea.

He thought it would be funny to kick some leaves at me.

Do you think this was fun?

you pal Phod who didn't appreciated having his sniffing disturbed.

Mischief Monday - Carried Away - by Lee

Dear pals,

On Friday I was super suspicious that Lady was up to no good. First, she didn't feed Phod breakfast and I had to wait until he went back to bed to get snuck mine.

Then after a little work, she started singing at us. She was singing "Dr. Feel Good." She took us outside and then opened the car doors.

With some help, because he is old, Phod cooperated with this.

Phod hogging the seat

I was not having it and I ran around the garage back up to the door to the house, where I hung onto the floor with all my might.

This did not save me dear friends. Lady bent down, scooped me up in her arms and carried me to the car. She said, I was getting my Librela shot if I liked it or not.

Phod took up too much seat on the way there. I hogged it all on the way back.

I pooped all over the vet floor to show how unhappy I was. I complained through my shot.

At any rate, I am not happy that I was carried away. Could Lady stop working out? I am over 40 lbs, she should not be able to scoop me up.

your not happy to be carried pal, Hailey Bug who won't admit the Librela shot makes her feel better.

Travel Tuesday - 49 hours in Thunder Bay

Today is our last instalment of 49 hours in Thunder Bay. After a wonderful wedding, we still had until 2:30 the following afternoon to explore Thunder Bay.

After breakfast we went for a walk by the harbour area of the city. 85% of the cargo that leaves Thunder Bay by ship and train is grain. It is a beautiful place to walk, even on a cloudy day.

After a stroll we headed out to Kakabeka Falls. This is the second largest waterfall in Ontario (only smaller than Niagara) and we both thought, even late in the season, one of the prettiest falls we have ever seen.

At the falls we did a hike, know as the portage hike. It follows the trail that the Voyageurs would have used to portage around the falls on their way to the Rendez-Vous at Fort William.

Our lost stop was a visit up to McKay Mountain. We didn't have time to hike up the mountain, but we did enjoy the slightly foggy view from near the top.

Then it was time to return our car, go through security and wait for our delayed flights.

We really enjoyed our brief visit to Thunder Bay and hope you did too!
