 Episode 414: A Pandemic Hope

It is a period of a pandemic. Novel viruses'are striking from all corners of the planet in an attempt to eradicate humans. 

During this, humans are sitting at home a lot more with clearly not enough to do, and free access to the Internet.

Pursued by a camera, Yoda (aka Phod) and Princess Leia (aka Lee) wait patiently for cookies and  for a time when the government restores freedom to their very annoying humans . . . 

I got a bad feeling about this! 

Y: Patience you must have when Lady camera has. 

L: May the cookies be with you.

L: You are going to regret this . . . . . Let's get out of here. 

L: Stay still Phod. It is our only hope.

Tis The Season - Pay the Tax

Tis The Season and in our house that can only mean one time. Time to pay the hat tax.

What is the hat tax you ask?

It is the price we pay for living as 'freeloaders' in this house. Lady says since we do not contribute financially, and only cost her money, several times a year we can amuse her by having to wear hats or dress up so she can take pictures and post them all over the internet. 

Here are the pictures from the first round of Christmas hat tax. Because the Man is still recovering from surgery, this year we only put up our Hanukkah themed tree because Lady could do this on her own (the 15 foot one is too heavy for her to do alone).

Today is one of the Man's favourite days. He will be off trick or treating with our human cousins. Lady will stay home with us, not that it matters as we get 0 trick or treaters out in the country.

I Thought We Had Been Bee-ing Good?

The Bumble Bee said to the Lady Bug: "If there was one in the house I would pee on the rug, to make up for the humiliation of this task. Who thinks this is fun and cute I must ask?"

The Lady Bug said to the Bumble Bee "Shut up, stay still and you will see, she will soon grow bored and put the flashy beast away. We will get lots of treats so it won't be such a bad day."

No Tricks Just Treats For Shelters

Today we are joining our wonderful friends Dory, Arty, Jakey and Bilbo for No Tricks Just Treats for Shelters. Be sure to pop over to their blog for wonderful ideas on how to help local shelters and make sure to leave a comment for their comment-a-thon!

We both did time in shelters. Hailey was taken from a shelter at about 3 weeks old and after Phod was found hitchhiking, he spent a couple weeks in one. We admit that after reading all the wonderful things our pals are doing for local shelters we need to do more. The most consistent thing we do is that every time Lady buys us supplies at PetSmart and they ask if she wants to make a donation, she does. This year they were doing a shelter food drive and she bought a bunch of food for the shelter. That is how we help.

Dress Up In Memory Of Whitley

Our dear friend Whitley went to the bridge earlier this month. Today, thanks to Dory, we are celebrating the life of the best dressed dog in Blogville.

Christmas Eve - gifts, gifts, gift

First let us send our best to our friends in southern Ontario, especially the Toronto area, who were hit by a terrible ice storm on the weekend. We have heard it could be days before everyone has power again. We lived without power for 72 hours last year right before Christmas, so we know how this sucks. We hope it comes back soon. Thanks to all the extra people who are working Christmas Eve and Christmas day to help get the power back.

Lady says that Christmas is all about the giving and we agree. It is nice to brighten the day of others. We hope our pals in the gift exchanged like what we sent. We hope Emma will like what we put under the tree for her and we hope Panda and Lupul (Aunt C's cats) are gonna like our gift to them.

That being said, we have enjoyed some early Christmas gifts. Here they are (we will do formal reviews of some in the New Year).

First, our good friend Missy G (she is a friend who is like another grandma to Lady) sent us Christmas money. Since someone had peed on one of our beds and washing it kinda made it bumpy, Lady thought we should get a new bed for in front of the fire. Here we are trying the Costco bed (we love this brand of beds) in the dining room. [It is now right side up by the fire].

PS. Lady is really sorry we couldn't get around to see everyone yesterday and that we won't get to see everyone today. She let us do some reading and no commenting. She is trying to wrap up work and do some silly Christmas stuff the next couple of days so she can have all of next week off! She says we will have lots of time to visit then. We told her Santa is watching, she better be extra nice but we will cut her some slack.

Mischief Monday - Too busy

We were so busy on Sunday with the entertaining for Hanukkah, that we didn't get to visit or get organized to write a real post. We had a wonderful time. We will be back on Wednesday as the Lady has a crazy work day tomorrow . . . .

In the meantime, here we are modelling our great Hanukkah bandanas from Mollie and Alfie's shop. We looked so cute and festive in them, we scored extra treats!
