Traitor Tuesday - The Beginning of the Holidays

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, celebrating whatever you celebrate, however you celebrate it. For the most part, we had a very low key holiday. Lady meant to get around to visit you all, but just was not at her computer and liked it as she often spends 10 hours a day on it for work. She is back into routine now - which really means she is on a chocolate detox because at the end of last week, she is sure she was 50% chocolate.

We are going to jump back to December 22. This was Lady and Man's last day at work for 2023.  Both went to the office. Man came home early and Mr. Phod had been rather ill and pooped all over the house. It took a long time to clean up and hours for the house to stop smelling. This continued all the night of the 22nd and into the midday of the 23rd. Lady was taking him out like every 2 hours. Lady and Man think he made himself sick by eating too much turkey poop (or maybe deer or cat poop). Other than needing to poop (or as Lady kindly noted, pee out his bum), he was eating and seemed fine. He moved to a rice diet and as they day went on, clearly was improving.

The night of the 23rd, Phod was feeling better (we had made it a whole 5.5 hours between poops!) so Lady and Man felt confident going next door for the friends' Christmas party. As it was next door at Callie's house, they were able to come home every couple of hours to check on us. While Phod's tummy was now back to normal, we were not fine because we missed out on all the fun. If smelling them wasn't enough, we found some very incriminating pictures on Lady's phone.

First, Lady and Man got to see Santa and his elf. Maybe we are glad we missed out on that because we may have escaped a hat tax with strangers.

Man gave Callie a lot of love.

Lady played with a cat. We think this is Cinder. This was taken before she scooped him up and made him love her.

Lady played with Callie!

We really thought after that, Lady and Man should get some coal. They were big traitors. We don't see how adding us to a house with over 30 people, with many kids, and Lee trying to kill the cats wasn't a festive idea. We think we would have really brought some life to the party.

The holidays weren't off to the best start. They got better. Come back Thursday to find out how.

Trouble on a Thursday - Traitors

We were left alone for 87 million hours on Saturday so our people could be traitors. They usually leave us alone for a few hours Saturday for pickleball and errands, but this was something very different and not ok.

First, apparently, they drove and parked at Aunt C's. They went inside and meet our cousin Uber (who we have never met) and saw our cousin Loopy.

Then our people left Aunt C's house and walked the 5 minutes to the fairgrounds for a fall fair.

While they could have been home with us they were doing things like:

Looking at hay

Checking out big pumpkins. Lady was wearing orange on Saturday because it was Truth and Reconciliation Day (Orange Shirt Day) - a day to acknowledge the atrocities done to the Ingenious Peoples of Canada and to listen to help us find a way forward.

Then Lady checked out huge sunflowers and had some envy.

There were many big fruits and vegetables.

Man ate some mushrooms as the area is home to many mushroom producers.

There were the arts and crafts to check out too. This was Lady's favourite quilt.

Not pictured were the cows and horses and fair rides and games and all the food trucks. It was a beautiful day, with temperatures around 26C/78F. They saw Grammie and the Big Guy, Aunt C and family and we were home alone.

When Lady and Man were done, they walked back to Aunt C's got in their car, picked up Indian Food and came home.

The prize they won for leaving us for so long was someone pooped on the floor.

We have been told that the next family gathering for Thanksgiving this coming weekend (Thanksgiving is the second Monday in October in Canada) we get to go.  Hopefully we can get some turkey then too.

Traitor Tuesday - Milo

Dear pals,

Callie got a little brother, a cat named Milo.

The picture Callie's mom sent our Lady

Lady and Man went over to meet Milo the other day. While they were there, for no good reason, the power went out. So yes, we were alone in the house in the dark while they were loving a kitten.

Milo will eventually become and indoor/outdoor cat. We had a brief meeting of him through the screen door. Phod was scared of the hissing and Lee sadly couldn't see him in the dusk light as he was not moving. Lady and Man say, when he is bigger and we may run into him more, we will be more properly introduced.

Traitor Tuesday - Not Again - By Lee

Dear pals,

Last Friday, Lady came home again smelling like a barn. I checked her phone and found pictures her client took, clearly showing she had been to the barn again. Why she wants to go spend time with farm animals when she has us, I don't know.

She assures me she has no plans to visit the Experimental Farm again, but I don't think I trust her.
