FFF Nature Friday - Halloween Edition - by Phod

Today Phod (with some help from Lee) is going to tell you a spooky tale.

Phod will be in orange.

Lee will be in black.

It was a sunny and bright day . . .

Phod, scary tales are best at night.

But Lee, I don't like the night and besides Lady and I are in bed early. How could something spooky happen at night?

As I was saying, it was saying, it was a sunny and bright day and the pack had adventures to the field at lunch. Lunch is an unusual time for the pack to go to the field. It is usually an after work, but it is getting dark early. Also, Lady says soon there will be snow and we won't get to go into the field.

Phod, I think you are a little off topic. People don't care about this. Tell the story.

We enter the field, and who should appear - not the great pumpkin and not a werewolf (funny story, after Man made Lady watch the Wolfman, we went outside and heard the wolves). 

Phod - keep to the story! 

In her ghostly form, the Callie came. She followed Lee and then she followed me.

She was following us, trying to find the deer poop. I ate so much deer poop, the Man gave up and put me on leash.

Phod, how is this a scary story? There is nothing creepy about it.

Maybe not for you, but to my HORROR, Lady left you off leash and you got to eat more deer poop than  me.

Oh Phod . . .

Throwback Thursday - Bagheera and Cinder

 The Man had to go in and clean out his office (he is likely never returning to it full time and they are doing renovations while most people are out). He came across pictures of Bagheera and Cinder. This is proof the hat tax has been in effect for decades. These pictures are likely close to 25 years old!

Wordless Wednesday - Break Time!

 

A Spooky Adventure - Part 2 - by Zaphod

 When we left off yesterday, Lady and Man returned from leaving us for 87 million hours 3 hours with Grammie and the Big Guy. When they came back it was time for bed. While we have visited Grammie and the Big Guy in their new home, we have never slept over. It was new and scary. 

Within about 15 minutes in our bedroom, Hailey settled. I however did not. I was sure we were going to die. I scratched at the door, I scratched at the closet, I could not settle. In the end, to get me to stop trying to destroy the new house, Lady turned the light on and the peeps had to sleep with it on most of the night. Every time Lady turned it off, I would get upset.

We all got very little sleep that night, in a very hot room and Lady was thrilled at 6:45 when we needed to go out.

The next day Lady was helping the Big Guy with some electrical work. It was scary because it required the power to be turned off (which I hate) and Man went out to do some errands and it POURED rain for a bit. I was scared. Hailey says, she wasn't she says she was just helping, but I know she was scared too. Lady said neither of us was helpful.

Later that morning, Man returned, the rain stopped and Lady put the power back on. All the odd jobs were done, so I was able to finally relax before it was time to go home.

We all had a good nap Saturday and I have recovered from this spooky adventure. 

Mischief Monday - A Spooky Adventure - Part 1 - by Zaphod

 It was a dark and spooky night . . . .

But before we get to that, let's go back a few hours. At the end of the work day, our peeps loaded us in the car and said we were going to Grammie and the Big Guy's. We were so excited, we couldn't wait to get there!

After 87 million hours we got there and had dinner and then our peeps left us. You see we had gone there for the evening/overnight so the peeps could go to Upper Canada Village to an event called Pumpkinferno. It is much closer to the grandpeeps then to our house. 

At this event, 7000 fake pumpkins are turned into wonderful, fun displays. Lady and Man got a lovely evening. It was 20C/68F and the rain held out. They walked around and enjoyed the lights. Here is just a sample.

While they were doing that, we stayed with Grammie and the Big Guy. Hailey, was very relaxed (perhaps the meds helped) and I did a great job guarding. 

Lady and Man returned, way past Lady's bedtime, and told us we were staying over. This is when the real mischief started . . . come back tomorrow for more

Nature Friday - Autumn Hike - by Phod

 Dear pals,

Saturday of Thanksgiving was a beautiful fall day. It was 20C/68F. We went for a hike in the woods behind our house. This is Callie's forest but her peeps said we can use the trails!  Come with us!
