Dear Nelly and Phenny - An Update

 Dear Nelly and Phenny,

We hope this letter finds you well.

As you know, since we moved to this house, we have been slowly working on digging a tunnel from our place to your place.

Now that we have left Canada's season of winter and entered the season of construction, we have once again begun excavations.

At the rate we are going we would this project to last several thousand years, so we are thinking we should ask Callie' Man for hints, given one of his companies is excavation.

We will continue to dig and hope to gain a few inches this year.

Your digging pals,

Lee and Phod

Editor's Note: For those newer to the blog, in our old house, Hailey dug up the backyard. At this house, we let her have one hole at the edge of the yard. Since then, every year both dogs have spent time digging in this hole.

The Tunnel

These are some pictures of the tunnel we are working on so we can visit Phenny and Nelly.

These pictures were taken before the sprained paw (although he has been caught digging a few times).

"Ok Phod, just stopped by to see how it was going."

"Good work, keep it up."

"At least Precious is helping."

For Phenny and Nelly

Hey guys,

A long time go, Angel Easy and I started digging a tunnel from our place in Quebec to your place in France. I haven't talked about it, but I still continue to work on it. Phod helps too. We do this  not just because it is the only place in the yard we are allowed to dig, but because we want our own Chunnel. It is taking an extra long time because our ground is frozen half the year and we haven't figured out how to steal the neighbour's backhoe!

Just thought we would let you know in case someday we popped up in your yard!

Your good pal,

Professor Lee

The Best Chicken by Lee

Phenny, Nelly - I may have killed the chicken, but the carcass is still useful. I (the dog who doesn't play much) have been loving playing tug with it. This was a very special toy!

Thanks Phenny and Nelly

The post lady came to our crib . . . in the box was these two wonderful toys, from Phenny and Nelly.

Somehow Lady got this picture upside down and she is too lazy to flip it lol!

Here is how the ball did:

It lasted less than 10 minutes. Professor Lee did her best work on it. Little bits of ball were everywhere, and really smooshed into our bed. It was a great enjoyable mess.

The chicken has still survived, mainly because after supervised playtime it gets taken away (talk about ruining the fun), but it is one of the toys Lee has played with the most, so Lady and Man are trying to make it last. Soon the chicken will not have wings. The chicken is a lot of fun for both the dogs and the people.

Then the post lady left a package pick up and Lady went to the corner store to pick up our parcel (cause that is where it was left). There was a huge box.

Inside it was full of treats! Lady and Man said we are very, very spoiled dogs. We think we are just the right amount spoiled.

Thank you Phenny and Nelly for the wonderful gifts. We love them all!

Mischief Monday - Moths

As some of you may have seen Phenny and Nelly had a moth problem last week. A moth ate a big hole in a cardigan. It seems said moth has either taken a plane or come up through the hole we are digging toward each other and has eaten a hole in one of the Man's shirts.

Hailey, who was hiding in the closet at the time of the storm when said moth snuck in, assures us, it was a moth. It could not have been her. She would never have taken the shirt out of the laundry and arranged it around her to make her feel safe. She says the moth came in and did this and then left the shirt on her bed.

This is a warning to all in Blogville, beware of moths!

And a mouse update - so far we have caught 2. There seems to be a problem with either the mice or our humane trap as the poor little things are getting injured. Man is working to fix this problem.

Thankful Thursday - Thanks Phenny - by Lee

Last week the post carrier came to our box at the end of the road and left a very special parcel. It was a birthday gift for me from my dearest pal Phenny.

Here is what was inside:

A card with George Pig on it (he is Peppa's brother, our human cousins have taught Lady that), a disc and a wonderful chew.

I was thrilled to be the only dog getting a treat and ran went to my spot on the bed and chewed away! It didn't last long cause it was soooooooooooooo good!

Phenny asked us to tell him him how to destroy the disc cause he has the same one. So far the 3 of us haven't figured it out yet, but we will keep working at it!

Thanks dear Phenny, we really appreciate your thoughtfulness!

Mischief Monday - For Phenny

Phenny, 87 days ago, or something like that, you sent me a gift with a toy we called 'dis' (after what my human cousin says when he doesn't know the name of something).  While I had enjoyed playing with it, I head left it alive, waiting for the perfect time to dead it.

I decided the weekend, after 87 million cold days, was the perfect time and I am happy to report dis is no longer.

Thankful Thursday - Thanks Phenny - by Lee

We were thrilled last week when the mail guy left a special parcel for us. It had come across the pond and was from our dear friend Phenny.  Even thought it wasn't Christmas yet, we demanded to get to open it!

Inside was 2 new toys, treats for the peeps, and 2 new snazzy collars.

While the next picture is not the best, it shows just how excited I was!

I channeled my inner Easy and in no time I had the toy ripped apart.

Getting the fluff out

I did let Phod play a little before I destroyed!

Thanks again dear Phenny, you are pawsome!

Question For Phenny - by Lee

Dear Phenny,

I have a questions for you. Angel Easy and I began to dig tunnels on our side of the world with the hopes of making it to the centre of the earth and creating a tunnel to visit.

I am still doing my part and working on my side. It is slow progress as half the year we have snow.

Are you keeping up Easy's side?

Your pal Lee

Life Lesson For Phenny

Today's edition is brought to you by Zaphod.

Don't drop your indoor Precious on the treadmill while Lady is walking and Man is watching TV. They will make you wait to get it out.

Mischief Monday/Lesson For Phenny - Don't Look Guilty

Even if your peeps are home and they hear that you might have been getting into the bathroom garbage . . . . .

don't look guilty. They may believe it was a tree rat.

Trying To Like The Treat Flyer

Phenny was kind enough to send some special treats for Phod's birthday. The one being a treat launcher.  Now this launcher (that I will eventually figure out how to get the video up) makes a clicking sound, which scares Phod.

We are working on teaching him to not fear it. We tried pairing it. This is how it went:

Phod standing near the bathroom smelling it.

The Man gently dropping treats for Phod.

Phod eating the treats and the girls being very jealous.

Phod deciding that this was to scary and going to the bathroom.

The girls had a great time with it, so at least someone is enjoying it!

Snow update:
As of last evening this is the snow in the back yard.

There is one spot in the front with a lot too. Now it is raining the next couple of days, but the temperatures are low over night. Will the snow be all gone by Phenny's day tomorrow?  Will Kinley have picked the right day with the 23rd? Will it last longer?  Time will tell! (Lady is working very late tonight so won't have a chance to add a snow update to Friday's post, but will do her best to let you all know how it is melting on Saturday).

Thankful Thursday - Thanks Phenny and PSA

The mail person came to our crib! He brought an extra special parcel:

Phod's birthday gift from Phenny!   Look he covered it in hearts so we would feel the love.

Inside there was a card. Phenny is very thoughtful and included Lee in this too.

The parcel had lots of treats (we have tried some, they get 8 paws up),

and the coolest toy ever. Ok, Hailey thinks it is the coolest thing ever, Phod is a little afraid of the clicking sound it makes and may have hidden in the bathroom. Lady will try and get a video up of it next week (she is being technologically challenged today).

The warning on the pet treat launcher shows you that is is pawsome!

Thank you Phenny for your thoughtful and much appreciated gift!

Friendly reminder that we have some fun beach events happening. Remember to submit your photos to help make this epic! More details can be found by visiting Arty's page HERE. Hope to see you there!

Lesson 11 - For Phenny

If your peeps are spending too much time on their devices, bring them a toy. It is important that they get exercised several times a day.

--------------------------------------
Snow update: This is the yard from last night when the Lady got home kind of late. Even though it was over 20C/70F yesterday we still have a lot of snow. Will it all be melted by Yamini's day on the 16th? Stay tuned to find out!

Lesson Eleven - For Phenny

The faster you cooperate with the dressing up, the faster it is over. (It is proof our peeps need more to do with their lives.)

Just because it looks like you are cooperating, doesn't mean you aren't plotting your revenge.

Lesson Ten - For Phenny

While sniffing the ground is very important, it is equally important to look up from time to time. It is the best way to keep an eye on the tree rats!

Don't let a blizzard stop you from hunting
