Helping Out - by Lee

Dear pals,

Last week we had a grand adventure. We got up, went for a walk and got into the car and drove to Grammy and the Big Guy's!  (The only problem with this adventure is because Phod gets so car sick, there was no breakfast!)

Taking up more than my share of back seat

Grammie and the Big Guy were feeling better from their vaccines and Lady had said if the weather was nice (it is an 84 km/52 mi drive) she would come and help them with some things around the house.

The Man spent the day helping the Big Guy install smart switches. These are light switches that are Alexa enabled and you can tell them to turn on and off. I was a great supervisor.

While the Men were doing that, Lady and Grammie took on the basement. It was the last frontier since they moved. There were boxes that hadn't even been opened yet. While they didn't go through every box, they got them organized, they got ride of 4 bags of garbage, and they found some things Grammie had been looking for.

Phod found all of this a little scary. The power being off, the Lady moving things, the people not being on the same floor.

Me, I took it all in stride and was a great supervisor!

Every Seat is Good - by Hailey

On Canada Day, because it is allowed as our Covid rules lessen, we went to see Grammie and the Big Guy. Aunt C and her family were there too.

I really like going to their house because there are a lot of great places to sit and relax while still supervising.

There is the settee where you can see the people on the deck and watch the front door.

There is my favourite chair, which is the perfect size for me.

There is a nice carpet if you want to stretch out. Did you know my peeps have 0 carpet in their house because they think I will pee on it?

There was even a towel by the patio door so I could closely supervise the BBQing of the prime rib.

It is a super comfy place and I can't wait to go back.

Adventure!

As we have mentioned Lady's parents have moved closer. Instead of a 9 hour drive it is about an hour and a half. They are very slowly settling into the new house.

Lady and Man had to go help them with more unpacking stuff. (At the rate they are going it will be 2 years before they are moved in fully.) Because their was thunder in the forecast and Lee is not on drugs, we got to go too!

Phod don't get sick in the car!

Hailey was beside her self excited!

There was so much to sniff and so much to do. We were very good pups and Grammie wasn't even mad when Lee pooped on the floor. Fortunately Lee (who had just been outside and pooped not 5 minutes before) went to the furnace room and not on the carpet.

I'll get the door for you.

Apparently we haven't unpacked the dog water bowl yet.

Glad my chair made the move.

So happy to be here!

Moving is hard work!

No Mischief Monday - The BEST Day - by Lee

Oh my pals, the best thing happened. After 87 million years I got to see my Grammie, oh and the Big Guy too. Aunt C and her family came too. I love them all, but my Grammie is one of my very favourite people. I was beside myself when she came in. I needed to give her 87 million years of kisses.

Grammie and the Big Guy have moved closer. I will get to see them more. Lady says we can't go to their rental, we have to wait until like February 2021 until their new house is built to visit their home.

I am the happiest girl ever.

There was a tiny mischief. Phod was a little rude to Tendra, our grandparents dog, when she came in. The Man had to speak to him, but then he was fine.

Mischief Monday - Road Trip to a Storm

Greetings from Point Clark!

On Saturday, we got up very, very early, and got into the car with Lady. We knew it was going to be fun even if she didn't give us breakfast. This with his anti-nausea meds meant Phod did not throw up!

Ok, being in the car was not that fun. We were in it for 87 million hours (Editor's Note 8.5 hours and we covered about 740 km/560mi).

Hailey sat up most of the drive there

But then we finally got here to visit Grammie, the Big Guy and their dog Tendra.

It was fun, until the thunderstorm came. The one during the day was less stressful. Lee found the perfect place to hide.

It was the one at night that caused the mischief.

A very heavily medicated Lee thought the only safe place in the house was in bed with Grammie. Since that couldn't happen, Lady ended up in the living room, with all the lights on, and music playing. Lady had to spray Lee with water to get her to stop digging the wall. (Lady felt very bad about this, but one squirt seemed to stop. Lee and she was able to sleep in the hall).  Lady slept on the couch from 1-3, in her bed from 3-4:30, and then everyone was up for a bit a 4:30 (that may have been Tendra's fault). Finally, we were able to sleep until 8. Needless to say, we had a fairly quiet, nappy day yesterday.

Lee trying to get to Grammie's room

Phod not sure what is going on in the middle of the night

There is suppose to be another thunderstorm tonight. Lady hopes we can work it out so if Lee needs to she can just sleep with Grammie.

Happy Thanksgiving! A Family Adventure

To all our Canadian pals we wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving. May your day be filled with love, laughter and plenty to eat.

We are spending this Thanksgiving 750 km away from home with the Lady's parents.

Our adventure started on the 4th, when we got up at stupid o'clock (4:30 am), went for a walk and by 5:30 we were in the car for the long, long drive. We stopped 3 times. Phod was never sick in the car (yay) and 8 hours and 45 minutes we were at the former cottage, now a house.

On the drive down

Are we there yet?
We have been very busy here:

Taking Grandma's chair

Supervising the Big Guy's nap

Catching up with their dog Tendra

Supervising the Big Guy some more

Allowing Lady to sit in Lee's favourite chair

Helping make the stuffing

Being worried we may be about to get in trouble for helping make the stuffing

Helping the Lady and Big Guy with genealogy.

We hope there is some turkey for all our hard work!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Black and White - Celebrating and Catching Up

Yesterday I was exhausted and maybe a little cranky and really did nothing but let my body rest after the craziness of last week. Because of this we are a day late saying:

Happy Birthday Aunt C!

Today is also Aunt C and Uncle D's 1st wedding anniversary. So happy anniversary to them!

Lady would also like to send a big Happy Mother's Day to Grammie!

Now the catch up part:

Man is on the mend. His gut is pain free, but he is still not eating a lot and he is weak. Lady thinks her exhaustion is a thing of the past and plans to spend today catching up on life. Again thank you all for your love and healing vibes, it was much appreciated.

Project Hailey:
Last week didn't quite go as planned. She got lots of walks and exercise that way, but I admit to being too exhausted to do the extra training. I am not beating myself up about it, as last week was unusual in many ways. I am just proud of how well the pups did early in the week when we totally challenged their schedules. No messes or destruction! What I did was enough for those days. This week, Project Lee, should go better, knock on wood!

Tour of Our Yard:
We are very blessed to have such a cool yard. The house was built by a 20 some year old mason, who had planned to live here forever but once he was a father he decided this wasn't the house or location for that. When a brick mason builds a house, the stone work is extra beautiful.
Our morning big walk is usually done down the road. Our after breakfast walks and evening walks are usually done around the property. Lady says soon the evening one may be done to the lake! Paws Crossed!

We Got Mail 1
We are very happy with these great rope toys. They are holding up well. Thanks for the tip about washing them, Lady hadn't thought about that yet! We checked with the sender and everything that was suppose to be in the package was, so we know Canada Post didn't keep anything, even if they played with it all!

An update:
Nin and Lee are good friends now. Lee sometimes tries and plays a little rough for our almost 19 year old cat, but he does play back. They often sleep together too. We are lucky that the dogs and cats get along so well!
