Thanks to Rosy and the Boyz for hosting Nature Friday. One of our deer friend's visited our feeder recently. She is young, likely a yearling. She was a very healthy looking girl. She ran away after the picture (as I had my ringer on and she heard the click).
Before I scared her away, she spent some time trying to figure out how she may get the food from the feeder.
I hope she comes back soon!

You are so lucky to have a deer just outside your window....so beautiful.
ReplyDelete'Dear' friends are nothing if not resourceful. Here's hope she comes back soon.
ReplyDeleteWow that deer was really close! We probably would have been barking our heads off.
ReplyDeleteWe love seeing the deer come into our yard.
ReplyDeleteThey DO have keen hearing. But what a fun video! Can't you just lower that feeder a bit for the sweet thing? :-)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
She is a beauty! She will figure out that feeder ;)
ReplyDeleteThere a lot of deer where i live
ReplyDeleteWe see a lot of deer around the nursing home doing the same thing as the one you saw: checking out the bird feeders. In spring the does bring their fawns along. Everyone enjoys seeing them.
ReplyDeleteI know there are a lot of people who don't like the deer around. But after having 3 fawns born on our property this summer, and watching them grow up, I enjoy seeing them healthy and doing what they do best - eating all the bird food, and making Todd and Max crazy! :-)
