When we got home, the Man noted that Lee had started to lick the skin off her nose again. As you may recall, in July, a few days before we were heading on vacation she did this and looked like Rudolph. Fortunately, we have some of the steroid cream left and will use this and hopefully prevent it from getting too bad. We are guessing she was nervous about us being out. It is very, very rare that we would both be out in an evening.
Sunday morning, around 7:15 new time Lady heard Lee get off the bed and go downstairs. It was too late to stop her. Lady realized that she had gone downstairs to pee on a cover that was on the floor. Lady and Man had brought the ladder in (it had been outside and it had rained) and had it drying on a cover in the living room so the floors the cleaner had spent Friday cleaning didn't get too dirty too soon. Lee had peed on it. Lee has the habit of peeing on any blanket left on the floor. Historically, if given access, she would also pee on the guest beds. She does not pee on the mats by the door or her own beds. I would love to get some throw rugs but know she would just pee on them.
If you look carefully on the front left side you can see the pee spot. |
In good news, at the time of the writing of this post, we had gone 2 whole days without any signs of mice. To date 13 mice have taken the Man's Mouse Uber and 2 have died when they released the humane trap too early.
Oh dear, we do hope your beautiful Hailey can overcome her anxieties with your loving help.
ReplyDeleteGood news about the mice though!
I hope things will improve... we have such a guy here too... it's Nelly ...he even marks the bedding when I change them and throw the old ones on the floor ;o( hugs and potp for your nose Lee.... we hear currently one mouse at night...I think it is the one who came back 87 times and who is too smart now to enter the trap... what now? machine gun? missile?
ReplyDeleteWe're sorry to hear Hailey isn't doing well and have our paws crossed that she feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope things improve soon.

My paws are crossed that life evens out for you soon, Hailey.
ReplyDeleteLee darling....you have my hugs and good wishes keep on keeping on sweetness...you'll conquer this.
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
Aww, I hope she can return to her normal, sweet self without the Prozac.
ReplyDeleteBe gone, mice. And STAY gone. Ditto nervous behavior and nose licking! I don't pee inside, but I do enjoy vomiting on the throw rugs. #usefuldecortip
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,
Cupcake
We wish we had some suggestions for her. Mom has been trying to take Lightning off his sedative, but he still gets too much energy if he doesn't get at least a low level dose. Tough dealing with meds and knowing what is the right thing to do.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
We understand about the peeing...Jakey can be the same way when he is stressed.
ReplyDeleteWe sure hope Hailey evens out soon!

Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Ruby also has this issue when she gets stressed or when her separation anxiety acts up.
ReplyDeleteOh, I did that to a new bed once! Just climbed on and peed! BOL!!! Maybe you thinks it's just a big pee pad from your puppy days. I gets it Lee, Ma says I'm annoyin' at least 10 times a day! BOL!! It just might take some time, ya knows? Gots my paws crossed for ya!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
Glad the mouse population has dwindled. As for the prozac, have you considered CBD oil to curb anxieties and excessive food cravings? Just wondering if that might make any difference.
