The Man October 2017 |
In a comment yesterday, someone suggest take out. In another life, one where the Lady could eat gluten and soy and not get really, really sick, and where we lived close to anything (we are so far out there is no take out - it would be about a 45 minute drive to anywhere the would do takeout), that would be an option. Instead we have a list of things Lady is willing and able to cook. She makes really great nachos and grilled cheese. On a good day she can scramble an egg. She makes vegetarian soups and chilis but the Man doesn't like that sort of thing. They are going to be fine. The Lady has stocked the house with things she can cook and her mom will be here on Friday and will likely take pity on her (and sigh because she really did try to raise her better) and keep everyone fed.
As of the writing of this, the Man had given the Lady an A+ for her nursing skills. But she had only driven him home (going through a drive thru of a fave place as he was starving - it was like the Lady's 5th time ever going through - she is a go in person), gotten his drugs (trying to do this when the person at the pharmacy's English was only slightly better than the Lady's French was amusing), and given him drugs. Her goal is to be like grad stats (why art students needed a graduate level statistics course is beyond her), she needs a B- to pass:). We will see if she can keep that up.
Thanks again for you POTP, it is much appreciated!
how great that efurrything went well... we wish The Man a speedy recovery. the mama said as she grew up her momma could cook two things: instant soup and semolina pudding... a lot of people said that instant soups are not good for kids, so we had semolina nearly efurry day ;O))))

Glad to hear The Man is fine! I'm sure The Lady will cope just fine feeding him good foodables to the best of her ability while he's recovering. Sometimes we can do more stuff than we THINK we can do because we HAVE to!
ReplyDeleteLove, Teddy
All good news! Yay. Continued healing and coping for all. 😍
ReplyDeleteYou will do fine, and honestly scrambled eggs and toast make a nice supper sometime. I laughted at the English/French comment. My former inlaws were from the Montreal area. Over the years I picked up some French, or thought I had, until one day, playing airline pilot I had a bunch of french students on board and did the "we're number 1 for takeoff flight attendants please be seated" in English AND French. When they deplaned they were all laughing at me, apparently what I said in French was "We're coming unglued, guard your nose for a quick abruptness".
ReplyDeleteThe Lady will do fine! My Mom has a fine art degree and can cook, but she is a terrible taker care of sick people person. Your Man is lucky that she has those skills and grad stats made my Mom laugh!
