My mom took me to visit the Bruce Botanical Food Gardens in Ripley, Ontario during my dog less visit. Founded in 2012, the purpose of the garden is to help people reconnect with where food comes from, teach about sustainable farming and recycling, and to help with food security. The people who started this garden believe everyone has a right to healthy affordable food. All crops grown in the garden can be purchased by donation, making farm fresh food accessible to everyone who can access the garden. I thought is was an amazing project, especially in a town of less than 7000 people. I will share some of the flowers and other cool things in following weeks.
Today, I will feature the sunflowers. (Murphy and Stanley, I totally thought of your mom when I saw them).
