It is gone and he hasn't been licking it. We wonder if he just got a scratch in the bush that hurt for a day or two. We are just glad he is better.
Phod has a new habit. With the days getting shorter, it is getting dark on some of our morning walks. Normally when we are walking, both dogs are out in front. However, if it is dark, Hailey is out in front and Phody is either beside me or slightly behind me. He doesn't feel as confident in the dark. This is fine except sometimes he tries to cross behind me and be on the other side and then we end up all tangled. Hailey gets annoyed when we have to stop and untangle. Perhaps he will get use to the darkness.
Glad that hot spot is gone.............and I think Phodie is just trying to "change things up" so he doesn't get bored on his walkies!

Glad the hot spot is gone and efurrything is fine on that front :o) Maybe you are like me Phod with walking in the darknes? I let my dad go first, just in case that something lures behind the next edge...
ReplyDeleteit could be he doesn't see so well in the dark - we are noticing that with Reilly - his eyes have that blue hue to them now - a sign of fading eye sight and that can happen even in younger dogs.
ReplyDeleteGlad your feeling betters and not to worry about the dark. But us gotta be csreful and not trip anybody up.
ReplyDeleteLove us .......Mommy's girls
Ohhhhh Phod and Hailey mom got a big dose of Walking dogs yesterday. Kasi stopped 87 million times to read and leave peemail. She was pretty good about staying on mom's left too. Every so often she looked at mom and gave her a border collie smile.
ReplyDeletePhod my mom isn't much for walking about in the dark either in the house or outside. Hey you know the good news about letting lady got first. If there is a cob web it gets in her face
Hugs madi your bfff
Well, I am going through the same thing as Phod. The vet says I have the starts of cataracts and probably cannot see as well in the dark or in dimly lit areas. It is making me nervous and Ma and Daddy-dog are trying to figure out how to help me be more confident.

I fink Phod is just being extra careful keepin both his girls safe on the walk, we are glad his owie is gone.

So glad that hot spot is gone! Woohoo! It's funny how our pups can develop new habits from seemingly out of nowhere. Daisy always keeps us guessing as to what she'll do next. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I first came to live with mum, I was used to walking on the left and was not used to a wheelchair. Mum's friend called a trainer she knows to come and help me. Mum has me attached to the right armrest of her wheelchair, and for the first couple of months, every time we turned right, she would command "right". Now she USUALLY doesn't have to say anything, but once in a while I wont turn right and she almost runs into me!!!
ReplyDeleteYour walks in the dark are about like our walks in the daytime. Shiver has never really liked going for walks so he tends to walk behind me.
ReplyDeleteBeckett does that too, walks beside or behind me and then crosses behind. Keltic on the other hand is out in front as far as he can but he erratically moves from side to side. Quite hard for me to walk them. You wouldn't believe they both passed Basic Obedience.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the hot spot is healed! Walking more than one at a time we usually get tangled up to.

I'm so glad to read that his hotspot cleared up! That's interesting that he's not as confident when it's still dark out. I hope he gets used to it soon!
ReplyDeleteBella is our tangler. We always have to wait until it is light, so SHE can untangle the leads. SHE says SHE must look like a demented puppiteer. Glad the hot spot is gone!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Phod is better!
ReplyDeleteWe don't walk in the dark so I don't know how my dogs would be in it. With more than one we can get tangled in the daylight anyway...LOL.
Whew, it is always a relief when things turn into not a big deal. Maybe Phod needs a flashlight.

Whew! I know that you are happy that hot spot is gone. We haven't walked in the dark but a couple of times because there are too many cats and the boys like to bark at them. ☺
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear about the hot spot being gone!!
ReplyDeleteღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Both my dogs trot out in front, regardless of the dark. BUT we do understand the tangle of leashes because they both do it multiple times on our walks. And by the end of the walk, Sampson is usually lagging a wee bit behind, but I think that is more because he is tired than anything else.
