Mischief Monday - The Dishwasher - A Dramatic Re-creation

Miss Hailey Bug's prozac has been cut back from 30 mg to 20 mg a day. This has her more herself. She is more alert, she is spending more time with us and she just seems more content. However, being more herself has some draw backs, which we will discuss over the next two days.

The first issue with her being more herself is she is far more interested in food. This means she is in the dishwasher helping more.

Friday night, as I was loading our dishwasher, Lee was licking the dishes in it.

Suddenly, Lee realized she was caught on the dishwasher and started pulling, pulling so hard she pulled the bottom rack out!

Lady quickly grabbed the bottom rack, which only had a few dishes, while yelling for Man to help. She held on to it, while Lee shook her head and pulled backwards. Man came running over, and unhooked Lee. The rack was returned.

Did Lee learn from this? Nope, she was immediately back in the dishwasher. Lady remembered the sit stay trick and there were no further dishwasher incidents.

Lady realizes in hindsight, yelling was no the best way to handle this. Lady also realized how disappointed she was that none of this was caught on video or picture. A true blogger!

Tomorrow, we will share some more mischief!

  1. wow that was a fabulous mischief professor lee... we are boys and we rarely help with the dishes and such stuff, but we will try that too, it was tooo interesting to miss such an adventure ;O)

  2. I never capture mischief and always yell and I have read and watched videos on always stay calm. for some reason I forget the calm until it is over. glad no Hailey or dishwasher was harmed in this episode and that MAN was home to help....

  3. Hari OM
Yelling is a safety-first technique; shock 'em out of danger! Many parents can testify to this I am sure. Still, the positive here is, Lee is back online! YAM xx

  4. I think the humans should just leave the dishwashing up to us doggies! The dishes would be sparkling clean, and a little dog spit never hurt anyone.

  5. I help clean the dishes that Momma loads in the bottom rack! I haven't gotten stuck, though. Wow. I need to up my game!

  6. Now with your help the dish washer don't have to work so hard.
    Coffee is on

  7. Oh Hailey, we so wish Lady had had a video camera handy!
Gail says she has reservations about people always being told to 'be themselves'. Like at work when you all get sent on one of those courses aimed at getting to know your colleagues better. Sometimes you learn things about them that you would rather not have known.
    Toodle pip!

  8. Oh dear me...Hailey I think lady needs to wear a body cam 24/ and Phod do the funniest things. I hope Man moved quickly
    Hugs HiC

  9. We always help clean the dishes but we don't wear collars around our house so we can't get caught on anything. You did a great job with the dramatic re-creation though. We sure hope you learned your lesson and don't get caught on the dishwasher again.

  10. That must have been a little skeery Hailey. But the best way to get over something is to get right back to doing it! Can't let one little scare keep you away from cleaning those dishes BOL!

  11. As we're in drought, there have been ads about the water wasted when pre-washing dishes. Sounds like Lee is just doing her part to save water...BOL! Would have made a great video. Perhaps Man should wear one of those sports pro cameras on his head...

  12. We think you are doing a great service helping your mom
do the dishes. Keep up the good work.

  13. That is pretty brave. We are terrified of the dishwasher.

  14. We have a dishwasher but mom has never used one in her entire life and she's not going to start now. What a bummer. Look at all of the free licky treats that I'm missing out on!

  15. It's tough to remember Sit and Stay when things are going haywire. Mom usually resorts to yelling and panicking too. It's kind of funny, actually.

    Love and licks,

  16. BOL, I tried to climb in the dishwasher as a puppy.

  17. good move! if you break the dishwasher that means you get to clean even more dishes. yummy!

  18. When you have a dog in full blown panic, videoing is the last thing you think of. We know. From experience. Looking forward to the upcoming mischief.
