Mischief Monday - A Winter Storm

A few weeks ago we had a a freezing rain storm. Hailey did not like the sound of the ice hitting the roof and the windows. She was visibly upset.  While I was working out, she hid between the treadmill and the weight bench. She rarely even comes to this part of the house if/when I am working out.  But other than hiding and wanting love, there was no distraction and she stayed fairly calm. She does think the weather is a mischief maker.

As I prepare this post for tomorrow, we are getting different winter precipitation. It is snowing - a lot. They expect about 15-20 cm/6-7 inches of the white stuff.  Fortunately this is happening on a Sunday when we can just stay inside!

  8. Perhaps Hailey would like a ThunderShirt to help her stay calm.
I have one. We also use lavender & frankincense essential oil to calm the house while listening to calm/meditation or classical music.
    It helps us.
    No more freezing rain!

  11. Poor Hailey - her ears give away her angst. We got a little snow yesterday and sure would love a bigger storm like you are getting. We will get a bit more tomorrow, so we suppose we should be happy about that too.

    Stay warm.

  15. Our new house has a metal roof, and Luke is NOT impressed when the snow and ice come sliding off the roof! I think by the end of the winter he might finally be used to it!

  17. We know the sound of freezing rain is an ominous sound. It could mean a couple weeks with no power, and trees and branches falling down all over the place. We don't blame Hailey for that. Stay warm!
