Rain, Rain Go Away - by Hailey

April was the 2nd rainiest April on record.  In fact we got more rain April 2017 then we did the entire  combined months of April, May, June 2016. May hasn't been much drier. May 1st was the wettest May 1st on record and we have had rain every day since (although it did clear up late in the day yesterday for at least a bit).

Due to all this rain there is some flooding in the nearby city, Gatineau (it is where the Man works, but his work has not been effected). At least 50 homes have been evacuated. The water in the streets is so high, boats are needed to rescue people. We hope all the people and animals remain safe and that the continued rain ends soon.

Here are some pictures from

With all that rain, I have found the best way to spend my days -

curled up in bed. Now if Lady would just put her phone down and let me sleep!

  6. We've been getting a lot of rain too. The south banks of Lake Ontario are flooding. We feel sorry for the folks who live on the shore. Hopefully May will be nicer.

  7. Oh my word Hailey we heard that rain the Mid West US had headed your way. Dang...
We had 48 hours of non stop rain the weekend of 4/22-4/24.
    Stay dry sweetie

  8. Oh dear Hailey, what a lot of water. We hope everyone is staying safe.
And you know what - here in Scotland it has been really dry!
    Toodle pip!

  9. We are so glad our rain has finally stopped and also grateful we did not have any flooding right in our area. It is supposed to be a sunny weekend so Mom is hoping the mudpuddles will dry up:) We don't need any more appearances of Muddy Misty.

  12. Oh noes! that has just been a problem everywhere this Winter it seems! Wowsa! We had record rainfall here too, and flooding, and all the 'fun' things that go with it. Luckily, no one was hurt here, and the clean up still continues. I will keep my paws crossed for all the survivors and for the rain to please please please stop!!!
I'm afraid I can't do nothin' abouts your Moms phone...the peeps never seem to put those frickin' things down! BOL

  13. Staying in bed sounds like a perfect idea. Stay safe in all that crazy rain. Mom and I will say a prayer for all of the people displaced and the first responders.

    Love and licks,

  14. It seems like many places have been having the wettest springs on record lately including us. We have been lucky to be able to get out on the few dry days we've had.
