The geese |
The ice left the lake just about 2 weeks ago. We decided on the weekend, since it was so nice out (22C/71F) we would head on down to the lake to let Phod swim.
The pair were over the moon excited when they realized where we were going.
We had a few wildlife encounters at the beach. Phod did try and chase the geese who were swimming by, but came back easily. He also chased a frog. Hailey was very mad that she didn't get to chase the frog.

Hailey wading in and catching the waves |

I love her little tongue in this one |

Phod bringing back his bumper. |

Waiting to throw. I hesitate because I know what is coming. |

The big shake |

Now he looks half puffy and half not! |

We could use a little POTP in our house. Ancient Cat Nin's death is approaching. This week has not been a good one. He has starting having "spells" that knock him over and leave him temporarily unable to walk. Please send good vibes that he goes peacefully. He has lived a great life (he is almost 20 after all). We are assessing the situation very closely and are preparing for our final goodbyes.
What a great way to spend the day - a swim at the lake - and phod got to chase his floatie thing too. We have our paws crossed for Nin and pray he goes peacefully in his sleep.

Saying goodbye is the hardest thing that pet parents have to do. But try and remember that you're giving that last wonderful gift to them. The gift of pain-free peace. Sending lots of hugs and POTP for everyone.

Cats are such mystical little creatures when they live with us, and burrow deeply into our hearts aren't they? I swear at least once a day I catch myself looking for Dietzman in his favorite place, or I hear him yeowing for his supper....I am so glad he had such a long wonderful life with you, and I am sure he with all his cat powers ...lol....has helped you in ways known only to him, cos that tends to be their way. We are thinking of you much today and sending you all our understanding and hugs.
ReplyDeleteDeb and pugs
Oh, we're so sorry Nin is doing poorly.
ReplyDeleteAlmost 20? He has lived a long time. It's never easy to say goodbye, and it's even harder the longer it goes. I'll be sure to say a prayer for him and you.
ReplyDeleteI get a real kick out of Hailey and Zaphod. Their names seem oddly appropriate.
