While the peeps begin their prep (which is not going as we would like, there is a shortage of firewood, so we may not get that), our wild neighbours are getting ready too. A couple weeks ago, we shared the deer eating the apples from the yard to prepare.
The hills are starting to change colours |
The birds are doing double time at Lady's feeders and she is filling them a lot!
A chickadee |
One of the sunflower heads, moments after Phod checked it out |
He has been spotted on the windowsill pulling the heads off and having a snack before he 'buries them.' Don't worry, when we see him on the sill, we chase him!
Thanks Rosy for hosting this hop!
Those pesty squirrels are burying nuts all over our yard. We don't have sunflowers, but we do have many different nut bearing trees to keep the squirrels busy.

ReplyDeleteI think it is wonderfurs that your yard serves as a roadside diner for all the critters nearby - even the slightly bothersome ones... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Our Mama feels the same way. Of course, they booth mostly do it for our enjoyment(chasing birdies, squirrels and deer), right?? BOL

We used to always grow lots of sunflowers in our garden. But then the Evil Squirrel Cartel started beheading them. Chester is glad you pups are doing a good job chasing those crummy squirrels!
ReplyDeleteThe evil squirrels are making a mess of our yard too.
ReplyDeleteI love watching leaves float to ground.
