Mischief Monday - No Proof

Dear pals,

Last Thursday the Man took himself to a movie. This left us at home at lunch with Lady. She took us out at lunch and turned her back on me, and I wandered into the bush.

After ignoring her calls, because while I adore my Lady, I do not listen to her, I heard a string of HBO words as she stormed to the house. She dragged Phod in, put on bush walking shoes, grabbed her phone and headed into the woods.

It was only a few minutes later when Lady heard me. I was at the top of the hill in our all bush acre. This time when she called I came to her.

She can't prove I left the yard.

Send good wishes to us today because we are both going for our annual V-E-T exams today. Mine is way overdue and Phod's is a few weeks early. We will report on it tomorrow.

Your pal, Hailey Bug

OMD Lee - that had me on tenterhooks wondering if you had truly gone rogue!!! Thanks goodness no - you were just checking out the back perimeter, right? Paws crossed for all good news from the V_E_T visit. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  3. I have had the same "colorful" oral response as Lady: Especially when my cardigan ran off after a big buck, in the large horse field next to where I was walking him and our borderish-colliesh, who was on leash. I tied BC to a post and was just ready to slither under the barbed wire, into the next field, when James returned, finally heeding my calls. I was both relieved and aggravated! I imagine Lady felt the same. Perhaps a stiff after-lunch drink was called for!

  4. Your mom has good reasons for wanting you to stay close and you should never ignore her calls and I'm never off-leash so I can say this☺ My paws are crossed for good vet reports for both of you.

  5. It sounds like you gave your Lady an extra work out, Hailey. We're glad to hear you eventually came to her tough.

  6. Our patron saint Old Charisma used to take off running whenever she got a chance. The kids had to be very careful when they opened the door. Then the adults would have to get in the car and drive all over the neighborhood to find her. That's when we finally got a fence, and the rest is history.

  7. Absence of proof is not proof of absence. Or something!

  8. BOL BOL Bertie is right!! You are one lucky Lee that your area doesn't have boundary lines posted otherwise there would be proof.
Good luck today to all...and to the Vet.

  13. Oh boy, H. Moms do NOT like it when they call and you are too busy to come. They do understand us a lot, but they do NOT understand that stuff very well at all. I hope you weren't in too much trouble.

    Love and licks,
