Well, in spite of the fact that there are cats living under the barn, and now the neighbours are feeding them, I am still getting access to the field. We have worked out a compromise. We enter the field on leash. Instead of passing the barn at the end of our walk, we walk past it first. We stay on leash. Once we get past the barn (and I saw a different cat their a few nights ago), we get to be off leash.
Can you tell I am in hunt mode as we approach the barn?
I wonder if you would "hunt" me ... (says June) ... I have mighty sharp-and-quick claws you know and those barn cats might have them too! So be careful about your hunting modes ... the pawrents are just trying to keep you both safe.
ReplyDeletei am happy to hear you found a compromise and can still be off leash. poor beau is only off leash in his back yard
ReplyDeleteWalking on leash past the Offending Structure seems a good compromise.
ReplyDeleteLee, More people should follow your example and learn to compromise. The world would be a better place if they did.

ReplyDeleteIt's good to compromise, Lee - it tends to mean treats will continue, life will be quieter and the peeps will be happier. That is all to your benefit! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
At least you get some off leash time. Too bad you can't hunt those kitties too. BOL!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a pretty good plan to me, Hailey!
ReplyDeleteMy Florida Associate Miss Charlee sees feral cats in her neighborhood. Mostly they're no problem. But sometimes they get underneath the house and mess with the AC. Miss Charlee is always vigilant for those invaders.
ReplyDeleteCompromise is so often the best way forward.
ReplyDeleteOr so Gail tries to tell me...
I tend to think it's 'Bertie's way or the wrong way'!
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Lee and Phod what an absolutely lovely walking path!!!
ReplyDeleteRecently I've had two out of doors feline sightings.
Hugs Cecilia
I think that's a good compromise. Maybe one day you'll get to the point where you just ignore those cats.
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do:)

Hi cousin, Ojo here! I'm not sure I like your compromise. That field looks perfect for running in! And chasing Cats in! I wish you luck escaping The Leash and running and chasing!
ReplyDeleteCompromise is key to a happy life Lee! Good job!
