Nature Friday - Where Did It Go?

This was the beach at Grammie and the Big Guy's house in October of 2018.

This is the beach in July 2019 (looking the same way!)

Looking the other way.

This is the tiny bit of sand in front of the cottage (aka Grammie and the Big Guy's place).

Where did the beach go?  Lady never remembers seeing the lake so high this late in the season. The Big Guy remembers it being higher around 1985 when Lady was 10 (clearly not that important to her as she doesn't recall it). Climate change? Weather pattern cycle?  A bit of both?

Phod doesn't care, he doesn't come for the beach, he comes for the water.

Lady, now stop writing and start throwing!

Thanks to Rosy and the Boyz for hosting Nature Friday!

...could there be an element of 'leisure craft' exceeding speed limits close to shore and waring out the 'coast'? That was a problem with some lakes in OZ - hoons on water. As long as the cottage is safe and the occupants... and Phod is happy, all is well with the world! YAM xx

  2. Being a somewhat water-averse (and certainly swimming-averse) terrier who loves running on the beach, that state of affairs would not suit me at all. But I'm glad Phod is happy.

  5. We dont' know why, even here in Texas, the lakes are fuller and things are a bunch greener than Mama has seen it before at this time of the summer. But hey, if Phod is happy...Life is Good, right?

  9. Good thing you're into being in the water and not sunning yourself on the beach, Phod!
