As Phod's mischief has gotten all the attention, I thought I would focus on a habit of Lee's I don't love. I don't love where she likes to sleep. We have a king sized bed - there is no reason she couldn't sleep between the Man and I, especially since Phod sleeps on the floor 99% of the time. However, in the winter, when it is cold, she likes to sleep 'at my feet'. This means I have to sleep in weird, uncomfortable positions, because she is a complete lump in the bed you can't move! (My physiotherapist would say to kick her out but the amount of effort that would take and the amount of sleep I would lose is not worth it for me at this time!)
I have created this wonderful drawing to explain them:
Having the leg room back is another thing I look forward to with the warmer weather!
Do you get to 'share' your bed with a lump?
Ha! Semms da Nelly gets an A+++ in your sleeping lesson Professor Lee... he is everywhere at night, impossible to stretch your arm or your leg...
ReplyDeleteour first dog Max, from 1986 to 2002, did this. when we got Baby, cooper, jake and now Big Boy No dogs on the bed... it is the only furniture in the house no dogs allowed. your drawings are perfect and tell the story with out words. it took 3 nights before Big stopeed whimpering to get on the bed. of course he gets on it when we leave the house, but that is fine
ReplyDeleteYeah, I have a hard time sharing my bed too. Momma takes up WAY too much space! I mean, hello, it's a queen bed, and I'm a queen, that means it's ALL mine!

ReplyDeleteBoth Jade dog and Jasper cat loved to snuggle into me on the bed... the thing is, in their own packs, they would all snuggle together and they don't understand the individualism of humans. That 'edge of bed' scenario brought back memories of me actually going over and I gave up and entered via the other side of the bed - which created a tsunami of fur as they wriggled across to snuggle again... 8~} YAM xx
Fortunately for mom, I would rather sleep in my own bed -even when there are fireworks and thunder storms happening outside.
ReplyDeleteLee you and Angel Madi might share some sleeping DNAs.
ReplyDeleteEarly on she slept on the bed with us. Her favorite place was when one of us was on our stomach...with our apart just enough for her to nestle down in between the legs. ON TOP OF THE COVERS. She felt like a ton of cement too. We could not turn over couldn't move our legs and she slept like a ton of cement too no waking her up. She eventually grew tired of sharing our bed when there were 2 others should could have all to herself.
Hugs HiC
Joey dog used to be allowed to sleep on the bed. But he got kicked out because he was so twitchy and gassy. Haha!
ReplyDeleteI get to share with two bed & pillow hogging lumps! BOL
ReplyDeleteOh yes, those are remarkably similar to the positions Bertie adopts. I totally sympathise. Bertie feels like one massive lump to shift and he is only 9 kg!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Gail.
Two lumps in the bed here. One in the small of HER back. Okay, until the dreams start that involve twitching and kicking.
ReplyDeleteMOL! The mom says that looks familiar. Though I'm a lot smaller than Hailey. ~Ernie
ReplyDeleteI am only 23 pounds, but Mom says I take up so much room, she feels like she's sleeping with a St. Bernard! Plus in the night, she tells me to get my bony legs out of her ribs.
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,
Cupcake
We are lucky that the dogs and people fit well on our king sized bed. The pups also will move if asked to but they usually migrate back to a position that is touching one of us. We are lucky that neither one tries to lay between our legs.
ReplyDeleteBOL, I just sleep next to my momma.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Mabel sleeps in the middle but sometimes she goes under the covers and stretches out near Stan's feet. Hazel is the one who likes to sleep at the end of the bed and I sleep in some of those very same positions!! She may be little but I hate to disturb her
ReplyDeletehugs
