Dear pals,
On Friday night, we were minding our own business, catching up on some TV shows when the power disappeared. I had been sleeping in my spot in the other room, but quickly came to the couch area so squeeze up next to my people.

A few minutes later (maybe 5 but it felt like 87 million), after we all just sat in the dark for a bit hoping it would come back on, it did. Then I needed to sit on the couch with Lady and make sure we were all ok.
I may look a little happy in the last picture, but I am not really. I am scared.
The power went out for a few minutes on Sunday as well. Lady was her office doing some stuff and I pushed myself right up against her door, willing her to open it and let me in. When it came back on, she had to go to the laundry room to check the machines, and I went with her. I curled up under the clothes drying rack.
I may be a big strong dog, but Lady says I turn into a suck-a-bear when the power goes out. I don't like the house being silent and in this case very dark.
Does anything scare you?
Trying to be brave, Phod
we understand that Phod.. power black outs are scary... we have to bark when the house ist suddenly as silent as a fish but the mama said she prefers your way to act much more ... BOL
ReplyDeleteOh nose, that does sound like scary stuffs to me as well Phod
ReplyDelete(and a VERY good excuse for some serious peeps snuggling!)

I don't like power outages either, Phod. I know it's not good when mom reacts unfavorably. I go into panting mode and suck up mode during thunderstorms and fireworks too. I hate them both!
ReplyDeleteWe're not scared of the power going out (maybe because it doesn't happen very often here). When that happens we just all hang out on the big bed with candles and snuggle to keep the peeps warm.
ReplyDeleteOH MY, Big has not been in a black out yet. we will watch out for him if it does. none of our other pups over the past 34 years paid any attention to it, except if it was hot summer, they panted and laid on the tile trying to get cool

ReplyDeleteDarling Phod, sorry you are feared of the dark - I kinda like it, I have to say. Nothing much scares me like that. 'Cept maybe being on slatted bridges... those things are waiting have me fall through, I swear. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Oh gosh poor you Phod.
ReplyDeleteI am scared when Gail takes me on walks and we have to scramble between huge boulders. I am a bit braver than I used to be, but still a bit scared in these situations.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Oh Phod...I can 87% identify with this postie!!! I don't the dark either...you know why?
ReplyDeleteThere are 'things' that go bump in the dark and well they could be spiders too
Best to be safe than sorry
Hugs HiC
Sweet Phod Chancy feels for you. Our power went off and stayed off for 4 1/2 hours...he don't like it either. Lightening and thunder scares him too and he gets a look like you have in the last photo when we have storms. We hope the power stays on and you don't have to be scared again. Hugs and nose kisses Chancy and Mags
ReplyDeleteWe think Lady's wrong. You were just protecting your family!!! We don't like UNNATURAL things either.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the power going out. But I'm glad that doesn't happen often. We remember some big storms that put our power out for a week. We have a generator now for if that should happen again. Hopefully that won't happen at your house again for a real long time, for your sake, Phod.
ReplyDeleteWe don't like when the power goes out either...and sometimes we get scared when it comes back on too! Darn Daddy and all his beeping electronics!

The power going out is the scariest thing in the world!

We don’t like when the power goes out either Phod. We’re glad yours wasn’t out for too long...though we know how scary that must have been for you.
ReplyDeleteDon't get Lightning started - he could write volumes about what scares him. But we all agree that darkness and silence all at once is a pretty scary thing.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
It's ok to be scared, it how we handle it. I was scared when my son had a brain tumor.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
OMD, Phod...ME TOOOO! I HATES when the power goes out! During all our storms (if they EVER end that is...) we had like 87 power outages, and they made me all kinds of nervous! How was I gonna make my margaritas with out powers???? sigh.
ReplyDeleteLets me know if you figured out how to calm down.....I could use it next time.
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
OUr power went out the other day. It was out an hour but at least it was daytime. But it is still pretty weird to have it so quiet.

Those power cuts are the pits, for peeps and pups.
