5 weeks with Emma

Emma has been with us for 5 weeks. The first week was great, weeks 2-4 were very stressful. She had a lot of accidents, she wanted to be held or played with all the time. She was just exhausting. By the end of week 4 we were wondering if we were going to need to board her for a few days so we could keep our sanity. It was a good reminder to us that we never want a puppy again.

Week 5 things improved again. A large part of this is because we started using the crate more. When she hadn't done her business or we couldn't monitor her, we put her in the crate. Because she was in there more, she screamed less when we used it. I think she had 2 accidents all week. One was clearly my fault (I forgot to put her in the crate before my shower).

Overall, things are good. The 3 dogs get along really well. They play together. There are only little moments of jealousy when for example we first get home and they all want love, but they just push and wrestle and it is chaotic and cute!

We have Emma for another month or so. Let's hope these four weeks go well.

  1. We feel a bit sorry for Emma, she must be confused as to where she lives. Sounds like you've worked her out though.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

  2. Oh the life of a puppy! Glad that it is getting better

  3. Emma is so cute, her puppy look must help her get extra attention?

My Mum was saying the other day how she loved me as a puppy, but doesn't really miss the puppy days! :)

    Good luck

    Your pal Snoopy :)

  4. THIS is all good news. Esp. the fact that the three of you get along so well. THAT makes everythingy better! We are so happy fur everybuddy.

  5. I knows how hard it is to has annoying little sister, always making messes! It worked for me too when I putted Gretchen in crate so she no would pee in the house. Okays, Mama putted her in crate. Puppies sure is a lot of works!

  6. Emma is cute! But we're sure she's a lot cuter now that she's not having so many accidents!

  7. Momma had a flash back with Lily. The key, they are only allowed in small places and not the run of the house
