Dear pals,
As I mentioned yesterday the vet has noticed I have level 1 kidney disease. While I know my peeps and I do take this seriously, I got the following from the vet.
You don't have to speak or read French to see they have labelled me as obese. Now I am not saying I am in the shape I was in my youth. I am aware my curves are rounder, however, I am dealing with a lot right now and think the term obese is a little much. Are they trying to kick an old girl while she is down.
(Yes, Lady plans on picking up some of that food for me. She tried to on Saturday but due to some traffic issues, couldn't get to the store before it closed).
your curvy pal, Hailey Bug
we hope the new food helps a lot... hugs and lots of positive vibrations
ReplyDeleteyou are not obese, just know that and enjoy your life.. a vet we used to see told me as long as lady can run her hands along your sides and feel bones as in ribs, you are ok.
ReplyDeleteYou look fine to us, Hailey. We've been eating a 50/50 mixture of Science Diet K/D (their kidney diet) with our regular kibble for about 6 months now because Millie's kidney values were getting close to above normal. Since we're both over 12 years old the vet thought it would be fine for Walter to be on it too. We love that food and it made a difference in Millie's kidney values on a recent blood and urine test.
ReplyDeleteAwww Lee I've been told as we AGE we need to have a wee bit of excess love handles just in case we get sick cause it is harder for older ladies to put on weight. So Dear week Lee Bug
ReplyDeleteyour are purrfect.
Hugs Cecilia
Hailey! The nerve of your vet! (Our vet said the same about Cinnamon). I bet its because you have more muscles than most of the city dogs that they see! You get way more exercise! We too got a massive dump of snow but NOTHING like you guys! Sending you healing purrs and keep being AWESOME! Marvelous Marv (and Mom Barb)
ReplyDeleteYou look pretty good to us, Hailey, but if that renal diet will help you, give it a try. You might even like it.
