Oh that last photo and the pipes! So many memories of my father (whose pilot's log book, somewhat curiously, states Royal Canadian Air Force on the front cover - I can only assume that's all they had available when he started his flying training in July 1942 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. It saw him back to the UK, to Tunisia and Algeria, then Italy, then finally to near Banff in Scotland in 1945).
