On New Year's Day, we woke up to a perfect winter wonderland. After walking the dogs, I set out to snowshoe in the woods behind our house. I would like to take the dogs on these adventures, but they do not particularly enjoy the deep snow. I am working hard at finding the beauty in the winter.

Can you spot the woodpecker? |

This is my favourite one |

This is our backyard. The tree to the left is the one that was in golden colours this fall and is the one we always use as a backdrop for fall photos. |
Thanks to
Rosy and the Boyz for hosting this event.
Your snow is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh we saw him!!!! the glasses of the mama worked yay!
ReplyDeleteyou surely did find the beauty of winter, of course I am sitting in sunny warm Florida while viewing it, not on snowshoes... my favorite is the last one, that gorgeous Christmas tree caught my eye and the one above it with the house showing through is number 2 choice.
ReplyDeleteThose are some pretty pictures of the snow and the woods. I wish our weather would make up its mind: it's cold and snowy one day, and the next day it melts.
ReplyDeleteOooh magical. And yes we did spot the woodpecker, on the tree trunk just below the centre of the photo?

ReplyDeleteYes that's him just low of midpoint. The winter wonderland is gorgeous to view... beats the rattling rain trying to break in through my window just now!!! YAM xx
Wow, this is just so beautiful. We used to get snow like this around the holidays, but the last couple years we have nothing until February. The beauty of winter is just incredible. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend.

Well, snow does look beautiful in photos...LOL! And we think we see the woodpecker..
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! We love when the snow sticks to the trees...before the wind blows it all off.
ReplyDeleteThose are all beautiful snowy scenes. We did spot the woodpecker in that first picture.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is gorgeous! A perfect day for a snowshoe...
ReplyDeleteIt's nice when it's powder like that. I'm not looking forward to this weekend's weather.
ReplyDeleteGood looking nature! Wow! I'm with the doggies - deep snow is NOT fun. It's cold on my belly. Do they make dog snowshoes??
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,
Cupcake
That really is a beautiful winter wonderland. Your photos are great. We are hoping to have some of that white snow here by tomorrow.

I also think the snow and your photos are beautiful and show the best of the season. But from our time in Alaska, I know those feelings that can come when the snow comes and stays. I hope that you get the weather we've been having - warm sunny days that melted almost all of our snow. I'll never get to wear my new warm-cozy coat! :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!!
Loved your snow pictures. I miss snow. I think I see daffodils starting to sprout in our woods. NO! Too soon!! It's supposed to be close to 70 today, so what are you gonna do?
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful!! We are getting what is supposed to be our biggest storm this season so far

Wow!! What wonderful views!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, that winter wonder land and I bet you two love play in it.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your views!
ReplyDeleteI've been too busy shoveling to enjoy the snow - yet. Here in Midway, the temperature hovers about 5 degrees either side of Zero and the snow gets heavy. We have had over a foot in the last 3 days. Great aerobic work out though :) We are supposed to get a 2 day reprieve.
Ciao
Barb
Such a 'wagnificently' beautiful winter wonderland!
