While we were out, we talked about how good the pups had been overall, especially our girl. We haven't had much mischief to report. Clearly we jinxed this because we came home to a mess.
As I walked into the kitchen I spotted this,
which led to this:
It seemed some starving dogs had gotten into the garbage while we were out. Our guess is we hadn't closed the cupboard fully so they could do this. Phod hid and Hailey stood there acting surprised. We are sure they are both guilty.
Because they had clearly eaten garbage (a big piece of the poutine take out container was missing) they didn't get a second dinner. Fortunately, no one was sick after eating garbage.
Come back tomorrow for a funny eating story!
Hehe...well spotted Hailey and Phod, an opportunity to rummage through the bin should nefer be passed up....was there sunthingy yummy in there?????

ReplyDeleteThat's the way dogs, show the hyoomans what happens when they think rationing will solve problems!!!
Hyoomans - I had 'extra special' chews of the mega size which Jade adored... and only ever got when I was to be out beyond the norms This way she learned that a) I would be some time but that I would be back and b) I would be some time and this meant the chew was all hers for however long it lasted; which in both cases equalled c) mum will be gone some time, I've got heaven for my jaws and the house needs to be guarded till she gets back.
Win-win. Then again, due to shifts, I did have regular out of ordinary departures, so the pattern could be set. If its not something you do too often, this could be tricky.
Also, where would there be room for mischief? We like a bit of mischief after all!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
that were that coyotes you heard a couple of days ago... they had a pawty in your house :o) I wonder that all furkids have no problems with eating garbage but get thunderstorms in their tummy after they got common dog food... a miracle :o)
ReplyDeleteClever pups, lulling you into a false sense of security. I guess for a dog there's nothing quite so delicious as trash, unless it's nuggets from the cat litter box.

Poor starving pups! And then punished again by not even getting dinner?! Oh the dogmanity!
ReplyDeleteNever miss a chance to rummage in those garbage bins - you can be sure of finding something tasty BOL - shame about missing out on dinner though :-( nose licks and love from Moth xx
ReplyDeleteHow in the world did the next door neighbor kitty kat break in!!
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
This looks like such doggie fun. They are definitely guilty as charged though here.
ReplyDeleteYoung wolves eating human garbage is the way the dog eventually became our best friends. They are just replaying history
ReplyDeleteBoy, did you jinx yourselves or what?!? Glad neither of them were sick after eating the garbage.
ReplyDeleteI think it was a Canadian Dingo that broke into the house while the peeps were out.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
OMD O M D..... THIS is TERRIBLE... we looked This ALL over and WE are SURE beyond SURE that this is the work of SQUIRRELS... YES... it is fur SURE an INVASION of SQUIRRELS that caused such a "MESS"... No Doubt while YOU and Lee were NAPPING... after that very FILLING Half Dinner.
ReplyDeleteWHAT! Obviously you have squirrels in your attic and they are blaming the dogs--poor starving things. We always get fed about 3:30...just when all those kids walking home from school go past, so we don't bark.
ReplyDeleteOMD OMD we just found out EXACTLY what occurred ... YOU TWO were busy with your Pawlice and Sheriffing Studies... Hitting the Books and Learning how to Maintain Order in Blogville... when those SNEAKY SQUIRRELS... RAIDED .
ReplyDeleteOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY WORD....HAILEY YOU AND PHOD NEED TO LEARN TO CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELVES OR SUFFER THE CONSCIENCES. WOW MOM MOM WOULD HAVE FIRST HOLLERED NOT ON MY CLEAN FLOOR BECAUSE NOTHING EVER SPILLS UNLESS SHE HAS JUST MOPPED. MOL
ReplyDeleteHUGS MADI YOUR BFFF
No, no it was not you two. Obviously, S.O.D (someotherdoggy) had come to visit you, just like he sometimes comes to visit the three bestest maremmas in all the land and gets Us into trouble.
ReplyDeleteWhen the peeps are away, the pups will play:) Happens here all the time and it sure doesn't make for happy peeps!
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning and Misty
We've never tried this before. Thanks for the brilliant idea, guys!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Now that's one big mess!
ReplyDeleteMy nephew's hound mix pulled over the stove last week while they were out to get a cake they had left cooling inside. As they said who knew you needed an anti-tip device for the stove because you had a dog. And the cake was a dog birthday cake but was meant for 4 dogs not just one.
ReplyDeleteWe often do the same thing if we'll be gone over dinner time, half before we leave, half later. Clearly that is not an acceptable routine, but I don't think we ever had a revolt over it! :)
ReplyDeleteUnless there is video we think it was an intruder!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Too bad there isn't a cat around any more that the pups could have blamed the mess on. We're just glad there wasn't anything in the trash that could have harmed anyone.
ReplyDeleteUh oh!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could knock over da garbage!!
ReplyDeleteEating garbage is so naughty. I am too tiny to reach the garbage (or just about anything), so barring an unusual growth spurt, I will never be able to enjoy such a fun night home alone.
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,

Who needs a garbage disposal when you have Hailey and Zaphod!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sammy
We sure wish we were tall enough to get into the garbage....
