First we would like to thank Dory for hosting another Flower Friday! It is a great reminder to stop and appreciate nature (especially for us Canadians who live in a white world 4 or so months out of the year).
Last week, I shared somethings about the Bruce Botanical Food Gardens in Ripley, Ontario. It is a community project to teach people about food and sustainable gardening.
Here is some more of what it has to offer.
Throughout the garden there is information about how certain foods can help different parts of your body. They have done it by "gardens". This is part of the immunity garden.
There is also information about different vitamins and minerals we need along the fences.
Throughout there is also other information about specific plants.
They have used as many recycled materials as possible. Here is a place to sit and relax.
All the fencing is made out of old mattresses. The felt from the mattresses was used as ground cover.
Fresh raspberries - yum1 (Yes I had some, but don't worry, I left a donation for them).
Some of the flowers.
I think I have enough pictures left for one more post of this cool botanical food garden!
