Dear pals,
Do you think you aren't getting walked enough? Do you think your person is cutting your walks short? We have a solution for you - get your person a FitBit.
We don't know for sure what it is, but since our Lady got one most nights we are getting a second walk. There are a few nights were weather or being home late means the Lady has done the scary thing of going on the treadmill, or has done weird dancing stuff around the house, but most nights, we are landing a second walk! Lady says she has to get her steps. Her OCD means she has to get 10 000 steps. We don't understand that but we love our life because of it.
Lady, the step obsessed one, says our morning walk is between 3500-4000 steps. All we know is it is a bit longer and we get to sniff more (although it is embarrassing when Lady keeps marching on the spot while we are having long sniffs or doing our business). In the evening, our walk is shorter because Lady says we can't go as far because too many neighbours up the hill don't keep their dogs on leash and without the Man (who rarely partakes in walking except for going to the beach which we try and do a couple times per week but is only 1200 steps) she can't control us. She says our evening walk is about 2000 steps. We love the evening walk because there are more dogs and people don't pick up their poop up the hill so there is a lot to sniff.
So if you want to get out more, get your person a FitBit!
Hailey and Zaphod who thrilled to be walking more
Oh yes I totally agree...that's a trick I've learnt already, hehe

BOL! My Ma has been using the health app on her phone to count steps. Dog forbid she doesn't hit 10,000 per day. But lately it has been TOO HOT, even in the early morning or late evening for a decent walk. I cannot wait until this heatwave passes.
ReplyDeleteWalks are the best, but the weather isn't always the best!
ReplyDeleteOh Phod and Hailey
ReplyDeleteMy mom bought two Fitbits...when she got home she didn't have a clue how to set them up. It is a sad fact but Mom is the techie in the family so she took them back.
All she wanted was a old fashion pedometer. We say WTG to your Mom
Did your mom receive the collage from Amy yesterday?
Hugs madi your bfff
We get two walks a day most days. It's pawesome! (We only get one a lot of the time right now, just because it's so hot.) I hear you could also get your peeps one of those Pokemon things. Apparently people are walking all over the place catching those!
ReplyDeleteWE are not good walking dogs because of the heat and cold, it a good excuse for our mom to be lazy. stella rose
ReplyDeleteHari OM
ReplyDeleteWell done you two for working that out! I have a pedometer somewhere that was supposed to get me walking more... somewhere.... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
the problem with fitbits and all trackers is they actually only measure arm movements not steps - you can sit in you share and swing you arm back and forth and you have 100 steps in no time. they being said - they are still great for encouraging some movement - both Mom and dad wear one now and Mom although Mom says it isn't fair - his fitbit (based on his weight) shows he walks more miles than her even though she takes more steps
ReplyDeleteWe don't know why but our mom is laughing like crazy!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Good idea!
ReplyDeleteMomma says I has to wait fur my walkies til it gets cooler again since it is 100 bazillion degrees down here ;) Her has a fit bit but it is still in the box. BOL BOL BOL
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Matt (& Matilda)
OUr mom got one a few months ago - and yes she does the silly march in place or up and down the hallway and around and laps around the yard. she sits at a desk all day so it is hard. she takes the long way to the bathroom - down the stairs - down the hallway and back up the other stairs
ReplyDeleteso silly

We keep TRYING to get HER out more. It's an uphill battle. (We think those treadmills should be banned. If the peeps are going to be doing all that walking...it should be with us outdoors!)
ReplyDeleteOur mummy has one too. No more walks for us, but she is doing a lot more gardening.
ReplyDeleteYep...works for us too..ALTHOUGH, sometimes Mama brings the stoopid camera INSTEAD of us. Absolutely NO FAIR we say!!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!

Our Mom doesn't have a fitbit but she says with the heat we have here there isn't anything that could get her to walk any more than we do:) But wait till that cooler weather comes - THEN we are going to make sure she makes it all up to us.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
Or pokemongo! Hahahahaha!!
ReplyDeleteOur mom is way too OCD to have a FitBit --- she'd drive herself nuts. We do measure our walks using a GPS program, so we know how many miles we're racking up. She's obsessed enough with that. Ha roo woo roo!
ReplyDeleteCammie!
Mom has one and she checks it every time she walks. But she says she gets more steps in when we stay at home BOL
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
Fitbit must be AppleWatch. Mom checks it all the time to see how many steps we go. We only aim for 5,000 or 6,000 human steps a day on account of Mom's new knee. For me - that is a MILLION steps because I am so tiny. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,
Cupcake
Thanks for the tip. We doubt we can get our mom to get one though.
ReplyDeleteI use an app on my phone, and I'm kinda addicted to hitting 10,000 a day. Nola partakes, of course!
ReplyDeleteHEY that is SUPER... You get to have TWO nice Walks... Maybe you should think about getting Lady ANOTHER one...and keep hitting RESET on one and giving her the OTHER... She would NEVER catch on..that YOU are Changing her Counter... it might score you FOUR Walks a day...
ReplyDeleteBOL!
Delete3 bum swings! 3 more!
Pawsome idea!
