One of the things that was left on our property by the previous owners was an old picnic table. While it isn't in the condition to use for people, it is the perfect place to do some agility.
I was so proud of Phod for being brave and climbing up. He can be very fearful of new experiences. He hoped up before Hailey!

My friends would like to thank everyone again for their suggestions for checking out a breeder. In the end, they didn't get good vibes from the person, and are continuing their search for the perfect dog for them (whether a rescue or a legit breeder). They feel they know more now so will be better able to assess these types of situations in the future. While they sense this was a backyard breeder and not a mill, they have taken the steps to report it to the appropriate local authorities. When they find the perfect dog, they promise pictures. Thanks again.
It pays to research.......and sometimes it's hard to know for sure if you're on the right track - trust your "gut" is what we always say!

Climbing on things is always fun. Well done on your friends behalf.....going with that gut instinct. It can be so hard because often you just want to save the puppies from such bad situations but that too can perpetuate the breeders (puppy mills) to keep doing what they are doing
ReplyDeleteA picnic table all for yourselves?!!! So jealous!! Have a great Sunday!!!
ReplyDeleteWow we so want one of those after she got rid of my sun bathing table. Lucky dudes. Have a serene Sunday and let us all partake of some big easy today.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
I like your old picnic table it's a great watch tower for pups! You can have an eye on all squirrels and twoleggers around you. maybe it's great for a squirrel bbq too? have a great sunday!
ReplyDeleteLove to see Phod building his confidence.
ReplyDeleteYay Zaphod! What a brave boy. I think it takes as much (if not more) courage for anyone (dogs included) to face his or her personal fears. While at first, it might not seem as brave as what society would normally call "heroic" acts, it's still just as courageous.

A picnic table looks like lots of fun to play on. We wish we had one here.
ReplyDeleteMissed some cos we had visitors this week... but finding paws, at least the right paws that have been lovingly breed isn't as easy as it used to be... Good to see others in on the climbing act. Luv's guys.

If only there was a doggie picnic basket then it would be pawfect!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
we look forward to seeing photos when it happens!
ReplyDeleteWe gotta agree with Murphy, a picnic basket would have been great.
ReplyDeleteYou both look very brave up there. It's kinda high for us.

Researching about this type of thing is super important I think. Look forward to the photos when they do find their fur baby.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of your pack on the picnic table. My huskies love the tables at the dog park. They all migrate right to them. BOL!! Crazy dogs.
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
WOW that is a gorgeous B&W Phod and Hailey!!!
ReplyDeleteBravo to your assistant!
Hugs Madi your bfff
Great job Phod! It almost looks like you posed them this way. Was this totally a candid moment? Love it!
ReplyDeleteAlso love that your friend decided to not go with a backyard breeder and to report them. I missed the original post, but I will go back and read it. You know how I feel about puppy mills, so kudos to you for helping you friend to recognize the dangers. I always focus on what is happening to the dog's parents, but the consumer often gets taken on these deals too. Glad you friend is waiting for the right opportunity.
Way to go climbing up there pups!
ReplyDeleteGood boy!
ReplyDeletePhod looks like he's just waiting for the picnic hamper.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Bella & Roxy
I like to get up on tables BOL! Getting up on an outdoor table would be fun!

Bailey & Hazel too
Way to go, Phod!!!!! Lovely photo!
ReplyDeleteMy dogs assume that picnic tables are made for them to climb on - which can be embarrassing in some situations!
What a great picture of Hailey and Phod. For some reason it reminds the Human of old pictures from the '30s & '40s -- prolly the B&W and the nice old table ;-)
ReplyDeleteLee, are you laughing behind Phod's back?
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
Jealous! I want a picnic table.

Dear Dog Friends,
ReplyDeleteWe have been missing from blog-land for a long time. Our person is to blame. We are back now. We want to thank you for the award you gave us while we were missing! We also want to say that it has clearly been a Very Long Time because your ground is bare! There is no snow! Does this mean Spring has come for you and Walks are happening again? Hurray!
Licks,
Cobi and Ojo
Pee Ess We love the games called Agility too! Even the stupid weave poles. But climbing on things and running around and through things is definitely the best!
Looks like Hailey and Phod are getting great use out of the table! Happy Black ans White Sunday!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!
Dory, Arty, Jakey & Bilbo
Oh, I wish now we had kept our old crappy picnic table!
ReplyDeleteYour friends are great, doing all the right things, they will find their perfect dog I am sure.
