We have neer been successful at keeping the cats off the furniture. After 18 years, we have really just given up. It has been less of a problem as they have gotten to be senior cats and have been less active. However, Baggy, who is always full of surprises, has started something he hasn't done in years. He has started getting up on the dining room table. It is different then in his youth when he would hop from the floor to the table. Now he climbs up a chair. I am sort of proud of him for still doing this. You go Baggy!

Today also marks 1 year since we left the city and moved to the country. The pets couldn't be happier.
Thank you all for your kind words yesterday.
Mean ole cat dietzman also jumps up on our table and likes to eat his food there far away from us pugs. Mom was rather worried last night tho cos she realized he didn't come in and eat his supper, she went out looking for him, and found him in the lounge chair outside enjoying the night air and the stars. She carried him back into the house to feed him. She has noticed that over the last few weeks, he doesn't come up the steps very well, nor does he jump up on the chair like he used to. She could tell from the picture that they took last weekend that he is starting to show his age.

Nice work, Baggy! My feline sisters love to jump on the table, especially during dinner.

Congratulations on one year in the country. Nice one Baggy...glad to know you still got what it takes. Have a fabulous Friday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Mom doesn't like it when Stanley reaches onto the table. We cannot get ON the table. I am too short to reach the table. But one day I was standing on the coffee table and mom thought I looked cute.
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Aww I am sure they are soooo happy with country livin! Congrats Baggy you learned thetrick all kitties love....Rascal does it everyday now!
ReplyDeleteoh bless him!
ReplyDeleteSo FUNNY! Twinkie (who is 17 years old) decided earlier in the year that she liked spending time on the dining room table too! What is it? Is it their age? All of a sudden, she just decided the table was her new space and because of her age, we pretty much let her do whatever she wants. So funny you said this!
ReplyDeleteYAY Baggy! Who says we old cats can't keep doing our OLD tricks - we seniors have more fun don't you think???
ReplyDeleteKitty Hugs, Sammy
First of all just who coined 'Feline Friday'???!!!!
ReplyDeleteOur cousins--who we don't mention much--have full reign of their house! Tables.. chairs...everything. Straight from the litter box onto the dining table...(that's the only thing SHE doesn't like). But Baggy you've earned your RIGHT to do what you want.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy (who can't jump higher than the couch.)
Wish we could get up there!

You go boy! ;)
ReplyDeletedon't you know that CATS BELONG on furniture?
ReplyDeleteThank goodness our cat doesn't climb up on tables. She would knock everything down! Although, she does sleep on the couches and she sheds something fierce. Were you in Toronto before moving up to the country?
ReplyDeleteYou go, Baggy! If it's in *your* house, it's *yours* to climb on. That's how it works, right?
ReplyDeleteOlder pets adapt and just make it work :) Chester still loves to hike as a senior dog but he goes at a different pace now. Thank goodness because I couldn't stand TWO dogs yanking on my wrist like a frenzied ox :)
