Travel Tuesday - In Search of Sun - Winter 2026

 Reader - I fear this post will be very boring and you will not enjoy it, so I have put a cute picture of myself to start you off.

I don't think my animal loving audience is going to hate this post, however, perhaps I am wrong. 

Our 3rd port was Barbados and here are some highlights.

First stop was a lookout famed for looking like Scotland.

The next was an animal refuage.

The reason we picked this trip was to see the Green Monkeys. They arrived to the island on slave ships and are now a nuance animal, that destroys crops. There is a price of $50 a tail, as they have no predators. This refuge is trying to feed them and keep them in a location away from the crops. The monkeys are free to come and go as they wish. 

Here are just a few favourites. 

After not enough time with the monkeys we made a stop at a lovely beach (for a quick look), before while the rest of the tour spent 2 hours in the sun, we went back to the ship.

Next week, we visit another port! 

Mischief Monday - Sharing

Hi friends, hi friends, hi friends!

First, I miss you. The Lady was really not home this weekend and she didn't leave me the computer password, so I could not visit. I am so sad to not get to visit. Looking at Lady's life, it may not happen this week either. Lady is too busy, too, too busy! 

Now on to the mischief. Although I am not sure it is (is it really mischief. Styxy would never cause mischief. 

As Lanie mentioned, she doesn't always eat all her food right away. She used to gobble it up. Now she doesn't.

Tigris and I have discovered this.  It is not good that Tigris is getting extra food. It is good that Tigris will go downstairs into Lanie's room.

The other day, the Man caught us trying to eat Lanie's food. He said "no, no, no, that is Lanie's food."

He put it in the tree with her. 

I knew Lanie was my BFF and would not mind me sharing, especially because it had my favourite food, Prairie Red.

Nature Friday - Winter Continues - with Styx

 Hi friends, hi friends, hi friends!

It is time where I get to share my nature. Thanks to Rosy and Sunny for hosting this because nature is beautiful and important.

It is still winter. We have had cold days and less cold days and snow, snow, snow. 

I like to spend my time stretched out by the warm, warm fine. It is so warm. I love it. 

I do still look out the windows because so much can be happening outside. Here are 2 shots I want to share with you.

First, look at this very pretty sky. It was very pretty, but as the saying goes, red sky in morning, Lady take warning. Lady had to drive home from the dentist in so much snow. All the snow. It started just as she was leaving the city and came down fast and hard. Her drive home was not great. She was happy to be home.

Next we had a very special guest. I was excited to see her. She was very pretty.

Lanie's Log - It Continues

It has been 121 days, or almost 4 months since my captivity. 

I have started to take advantage of having access to the whole house. I go between my room and the Warden's Office (when she is not working). I like her window, with a cabinet in front of it, it is harder for her to reach me.

I come upstairs more. I like to come up when the people are downstairs or in the night. Styx and I like to zoom in the night. It keeps the Man Warden up, but Lady Warden uses earplugs and can't hear me. Gris will now hiss at me, but mostly she keeps her distance.

The Wardens have taken me off my meds again. I like this, but I am a little less trusting of them, made worse by the Lady Warden's need to hug and kiss me. She made me so mad, she had to give me a few days to forgive her. She knew I forgave her when I called for her one day as I needed some pets (no pick ups).

People said it would be impossible to make me want to live in a house. While I am not truly a house cat in the way Styx and Tigris are, I live here well. The Wardens hope I will become more comfortable, but if I don't, they would be totally ok with the rhythm of our life, me keeping my space, but not being unfriendly. We will see what happens.

Tuesday's With Tigris - Sunshine - Winter 2026

 Dear Reader,

Before I let Lady talk about her vacation, I would like to say, we have made the peace since her vacation and she is letting us sleep in the bedroom. We are only allowed in when our people are. So far, no accidents.

Now over to Lady.

Our second port was St. Lucia, which we visited a few years ago. This time, we thought we would take a Segway tour. We were a small group with only 2 other people.  Turns out, I am a rather natural Segway driver. Man and I both did great (although he did get stuck in the sand and fall over at one point - left sandy, but not hurt).

This was the only time we really spent at the beach, and it was an amazing day.
