Mischief Monday - Hunting

Recently every time we go out, the dogs have been particularly interested in sniffing the front flower bed.

The other day, the Man took the pups out and Hailey went fully into hunting mode and pounced.

Here is a dramatic recreation:

The little vole got away. I am sure my girl was very disappointed.

We have a neighbour's cat and a fox also spotted hunting a lot in yard, so we will see if the little vole and mice survive!

  1. some dogs are just natural born hunters, we had two of our five that were hunters. the other 3 paid no attention at all... Big goes for a walk rain or shine, and has only missed 3 walks in 18 months of walking. in Florida if it is lightning we can't go out. rain is ok, but not ligthing. we live in the lightning capital of usa, right square in the middle. usually it will come and go, but this one it never stopped bling for 20 hours...

  4. Those little critters are very elusive. Millie's tried catching them before too and has never succeeded either.

  6. Always good keeping one's hunting skills crisp. Looks like the snow is melting at least in that location.

  7. Well I'll be what a cute little critter. I've seen evidence of them around our yard but never seen on in the furs.
Has your snow disappeared? Today was our guess

  10. We love to hunt too. We don't think we have ever seen a vole, but we have lots of bunnies around.
