Nature Friday - A Deer Friend

Thanks to Rosy and the Boyz for hosting Nature Friday. One of our deer friend's visited our feeder recently. She is young, likely a yearling. She was a very healthy looking girl. She ran away after the picture (as I had my ringer on and she heard the click).

Before I scared her away, she spent some time trying to figure out how she may get the food from the feeder.

I hope she comes back soon!

  9. They DO have keen hearing. But what a fun video! Can't you just lower that feeder a bit for the sweet thing? :-)

  11. We see a lot of deer around the nursing home doing the same thing as the one you saw: checking out the bird feeders. In spring the does bring their fawns along. Everyone enjoys seeing them.

  12. I know there are a lot of people who don't like the deer around. But after having 3 fawns born on our property this summer, and watching them grow up, I enjoy seeing them healthy and doing what they do best - eating all the bird food, and making Todd and Max crazy! :-)
