Mischief Monday - Helping Out Around The House

While we have had a lot of wildlife mischief (mainly a mouse invasion - 7 caught and at least 1 more in the house), a pack of howling coyotes or wolves or our local hybrid coywolves, howling like we have never heard them in the 6 years we have lived out here, that lead to an aborted walk, and so many deer in the yard (sometimes 10). But we don't have pictures of any of this, so we will talk about how helpful we are at helping bring wood in.

The Lady and Man ordered 3 cords of wood and over 2 Sundays brought this in.

The process went like this:

Go to the wood pile,

 fill the wheelbarrow,

push it to the shed where you stack the wood.

We were very big helps. Lee, who had to be on tie out as the people couldn't watch her close enough, spent time getting tangled in the yard.

Phod spent his time trying to get someone to play Precious with him.

This task is now done for the season. Soon we will get to enjoy cozy fires.

  1. good idea Phod.. precious can be the little detail what a pile needs to fall apart or to stay like a trooper (we have fall piles... well ok actually is fall lol)

  2. Hari Om
With helpers like you, who needs bandits?! Now then. I am wondering if all that wildlife activity is a sign of a severe winter encroaching? Maybe another cord wouldn't go amiss??? hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx

  3. Yes of course you guys were a big help.
    Well done Lee and Phod.
It is clearly only due to your efforts that your household will keep warm this winter.
And don't let anyone say otherwise!
    Toodle pip!

  4. Phod just be careful that you don't lose your Precious in the wood.

  5. Way to help out you guys!Yes, I think you'll be nice and toasty this winter. There are times when I miss the comfort of a nice fire and then the wood pile and keeping it maintained suddenly snap me into reality. Enjoy!

  6. Moving and stacking firewood is a big job and you and Phod definitely pulled your weight too, Hailey!

  7. Winter is a coming for sure good you have all that wood.
Phod don't let Precious get buried in the wood pile
    Hugs Cecilia

  8. If it weren't for you doggies, that wood never would've made it all inside stacked and ready. You kids were a HUGE help!

    Love and licks,

  9. Looks like you will be enjoying some cozy evenings! Need any collie company?

  10. Whew, we thought maybe Precious got lost in that big pile of wood:) Stay warm and cozy by the fire.

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  11. Glad Precious didn't get lost in all da wood!

  12. Oh Phod...I feel ya. I drop my balls at Ma's feets all the time ~ sometimes she kicks it, sometimes I gets ignored. sigh. We needs to train our peeps better!

  13. Hopefully that will be enough wood to keep you warm all winter.
